I personally think that since they are in a irl relationship they do have a good chance of getting back together. I am not saying this because I ship Karamel, I am saying this because it makes the show a lot more interesting when Kara has a love interest because it proves how venerable she can make herself and gives Alex a time to shine as a big sis. I hope you are all excited for later tonight! I know I am!!

The more I watch this season the more I wish that Kara and Mon-El just resumed their relationship in Episode 7 and Mon-El wasn't married to Imra and Karamel stayed steady until the show finished or Mon-El leaves. Write some other drama that doesn't involve their relationship.

I like to compare to Supergirl's brother shows where we find Barry (The Flash) and Oliver (Green Arrow) both now married and hopefully staying that way. I'd like the same for Kara, if she's not single she's in a steady relationship and there's not much relationship drama to be watched.

Your opinion is fair, even if I personally disagree with it. I, for one, feel like the relationship drama has been a weakness of absolutely all the shows. Barry and Iris felt the most natural, until they used this season to really shove Iris into the forefront. That's been annoying. It felt like it became the "Barry and Iris show" (and on some terrible occasions, the "Iris and company" show), this year. I feel like Iris should be a supporting character, not a co lead. That's kinda how I feel about Mon-El, as well. Although, I do have to say that his characterization, this year, has been much better, although he still lacks a degree of tact, when balancing his interactions with Kara and Imra.

Keep in mind, I'm a man, as I say this, so I may not fully comprehend the way women feel on this topic. I can try to, but never will. Nature of the different genders. But I personally feel that there is this OVERWHELMING need for women, especially in tv and film, to be part of a couple. Like it's part of what defines them.

Supergirl's purpose (the show, not the character) from the start has been to fight for equality and to try and overcome a lot of the gender specific stereotypes. For that reason, I'd prefer Kara stay single, and not have part of herself (and by extension, her show) be defined by who she's in a relationship with. Or at the very least, not have a long term relationship. I don't want the "Supergirl and Mon-El" show, or the "Supergirl and Lena" show. I want "Supergirl".

Don't get me wrong. Sometimes, the relationships are done well. I liked Oliver and McKenna, from season one. Or Barry and Spivot, in season 2 of The Flash. Neither of those characters overpowered the show.

We all knew Barry and Iris would be endgame. They are married in the comics. We all THOUGHT Oliver and Laurel would be endgame. They've been together in MANY iterations of the characters (don't ask me why they went the Felicity route, I don't hate the character, but the relationship felt forced, to me).

The difference is that Supergirl has NEVER had one of those long term romances who she's been DESTINED to be with for decades, that have defined other characters. She doesn't have an equivalent of Lois Lane to Superman, Iris West to Flash, Dinah Lance to Green Arrow, Carol Ferris to Green Lantern. I think she had a short stint with Mon-El, at some point.

I'm not saying Mon-El needs to leave the show. I don't dislike him. But I'm saying that they don't need to be a couple. This past episode was the first time, this year, that Kara actually acknowledged the negative elements of their relationship. And even as a crime fighting partner, they could stand to scale him back, a bit. He shouldn't end up becoming Supergirl's long term equal (refer back to my desire to not watch the "Supergirl and Mon-El" show). I think he should remain a supporting character, not a lead.

Sorry, that rant got a little long. Just wanted to illustrate how I feel about the topic. I'm sure I could have made a shorter summary. The biggest thing is that, as the only female lead superhero show on network tv, I don't want her defined by who she's dating. (Yes, I realize Sara leads the Legends, but that is definitely more of a team show, by it's very nature).

I don't mind Mon-el sticking around, I really like Chris in the role, however I'm not real keen on them rekindling their relationship....unless it is much better written than last season, I hope they stay just friends.

But Kara's recovery period after losing him at the end of season 2 seemed INCREDIBLY disproportional to how long they were together.

So true, Kdogg. "Disproportional" is the perfect word for what made the story explanation troubling. Same goes the Maggie story, as well. I mean, days away from wedding and NOW you mention kids.

Good thing the VAST majority of the season has been spectacular. Please don't go backwards on Kara's story, writers *crosses fingers* Having her and Mon-El together season 5?...that would seem MUCH more legit. Give the relationship angle a break....loooonnnggg break.

Well, if the rumors that are flying around twitter are correct........ no "ship" is left sailing this season....lol

I saw posts that there ARE rumors, but I haven't seen the actual rumors. And I kinda don't want to. I'd prefer not to have the plot spoiled. Especially with 9 episodes left.

That being said, I am 100% okay if all existing ships are history after this season. I said it before, I feel like Kara and Mon-El getting back together would be a backpedal, after Kara's growth, this season. And I'm sure there are respectful Supercorp shippers, but Good Lord, the ones who make noise online seem genuinely hateful people.

And then there are the still VERY faithful Sanvers shippers, saying they wont watch the show until they "Bring Maggie Back", failing to acknowledge that it was Floriana's choice to leave.

I know that Supercorp, Karamel, and Sanvers all have respectful shippers, and completely disrespectful jerks as shippers. We just don't normally hear from the former, and I'm sick of hearing from the latter.

I don't know where I was in the past decade or so when "shipping" went from "wouldn't be cool if" to "f**k this show if my ship isn't canon, doesn't stay canon, and isn't endgame, and anyone else who thinks otherwise is garbage".

I personally believe that if someone only watches a show for a "ship", and refuses to watch because it's not, or is no longer, canon, then good riddance. You were never truly a fan of that show.

Do I "ship"? Sure. I ship relationships that I know will never happen. I acknowledge that, I bear no hatred to anyone who disagrees, or to the writers for not putting together the characters I like.

Sorry for the rant. I made the mistake of reading comments on Supergirl's official posts on their social media accounts, and the rude, hateful folk just got me worked up.

And the worst is those who think their shipping amounts to fighting for a social cause.

By obsessing over people on TV, ranting about, saying so and so is endgame etc, you are not fighting for LGBT rights. You are not fighting for feminism. You are not fighting for anything other than a fanfic.

Being a shipper doesn't make you a champion of social justice. And opposing your ship doesn't make others a bigot.

Go march. Go vote. Go do something real if you actually care about the cause. Having twitter handles like "Supergirl is Supergay" while tweeting about SuperCorp 24/4 and hurling insults every time a male character is paired with Kara does not advance anything.

Honestly this show needs two things. Either no pairings ever, or an actual endgame pairing. CW writers have an unhealthy obsession of milking separation drama. It creates chaos like this.

Which is why Flash, which has a endgame pairing with which no one can argue, has peaceful, normal fans. The focus isn’t on the romance and that’s not what its fans care about.

Arrow and Supergirl milks the relationship drama and that attracted tons with the “ship” mentality, until they cannot even try to give Kara a friend without thousands chanting they want them to bang.

Can someone please give me a TLDR about what the rumours are?

I got you, Fedguy. I didn't bother to read through the whole list... Just copy/pasted. I would find it hard to believe anyone, even crew, would leak the entire rest of the season.

Warning warning warning.... If anyone doesn't want to know the rumors, scroll past this post:

Warning: Spoiler Alert! [Toggle message]
Purity and pestilence die.. during battle with team SG in 17.

-Reign kills Patricia.

-Legion talks about leaving in 17 but leave in 18

-Imra, brainy, and mon-el leave in 18. there is a group goodbye scene and mon-el gets inside the ship. but brainy asks him to stay to help supergirl and imra asks him to stay to ‘figure out his feelings’

The cult leader comes back and tries to create a new world killer but ends up making Reign stronger..

-Kara and Lena are on opposite sides on how to deal with the World Killers. James takes Lena’s side. Lena has Kryptonite.

-Black kryptonite is the key to separate reign and sam.

-Kara and Mon-el go to Argo City (which has apparently survived) in search of Black Kryptonite.

Alura is alive.. Kara’s best friend from her childhood is also there and Alura has sort of adopted her. No signs of Zor-EL.

Kara and Mon-el talk about their feelings for each other possibly in the same field as 301.

-Alura comes back to earth with Kara… but leaves in the finale.

-the kryptonian priestess that is guiding reign is also in Argo and she is trying to murder Kara in Argo.

-Lena goes increasingly insane. goes full mad scientist by the finale, experimenting on people. James comes out to the world as guardian and could possibly go to jail.

-Sam and Reign are separated. Sam has her powers only temporarily while Reign is at full strength.

-final battle is the kryptonian priestess plus reign against rest of team SG with legion.

-J'onn’s father dies and at the end of the finale, he goes 'exploring’ so leaves the team. Not sure how permanent it is.

Alex is the head of the DEO.

-Sam survives and she takes ruby with her to another town hence leaving the show. -Imra and Mon-el break up at the start of the final episode.

Apparently in the future brainy’s race is dying because of a virus so he needs to stay in the present for a while. He asks Winn to find him a cure in the future.

Mon-el and kara have a talk in the finale and they both decide he should go to the future.

-It looks like Karamel will be heavily implied until the very end only for Mon-El to go back to the future.

I have to say that I enjoyed this last episode because it seems to have put a nice bookend on the Mon-el/Kara relationship. It seems that both learned from it and are more than willing to move on.

I'm ready to move on....from all of the relationships of season 2.

If by chance Mon-el and Kara end up together in say.....Season 7? cool.....it will be a relationship built on trust, respect and friendship.

As far as Alex, I wish for her someone who respects her opinion, allows her to express her love in whatever way she wants....ie romantic dinners, stupid little cards, etc....whatever makes her happy. I want her partner to want to make her happy as much as Alex wants to do the same. That was not seen in the Maggie relationship. That is what I want for Alex.

I think that, after the progress Kara has made (finally), it would feel like a huge step backwards for her character to fall back into this relationship, when over half the season has been about getting over Mon-El.

I just don't think Kara/Supergirl should NEED to be in a relationship. And if she is in one, it shouldn't be so crucial to who she is as a person.

Losing people is hard, and I get that. But Kara's recovery period after losing him at the end of season 2 seemed INCREDIBLY disproportional to how long they were together. She seemed to completely lose herself for 7 months, after losing what was pretty much a 2-3 month relationship. And that really bothered me. But she's finally made progress, and I don't want to see all of that be for nothing.

I don't mind Mon-El being around, but I just don't think they should be together, again.

By the term heart wrenching...I think someone dies...and I am afraid it might be Samantha/Reign. The title of it in case you haven't heard is "Battles Lost and Won." Perhaps that "Won" will refer to Supergirl's ultimate defeat of Reign.

Respectfully disagree. The progress Kara has made figuring out who she is and who she wants to be won't be negated if the catalyst for that introspection, the loss of the life she thought she was going to have, becomes possible again. Personally I think the season will end with Mon-El and Imra breaking up but Kara and Mon-El not getting back together but the possibility left open for next season. If nothing else it's believable that the network will want to stretch out the will they or won't they get back together.

I just don't think Kara/Supergirl should NEED to be in a relationship. And if she is in one, it shouldn't be so crucial to who she is as a person.
I agree with this

It's not just Mon-El Kara was grieving she was close to having everything she ever wanted, then by her own hand she had to sacrifice that. How many of us have had points in our lives where by forces in and out of our control something changes and all our plans for the future are no longer possible. There's a grieving process for the life we thought we were going to have that we have to go through before we can pick up the pieces and live in our new normal. IMO Kara having a second chance at the life she thought she was going to have doesn't negate the process or the progress. Plus Kara and Mon-El are both not the same people they were at the end of last season, their relationship wouldn't be the same either.

An IRL example is the couple who unsuccessfully tries to have a child then conceives right after they adopt. They may have spent years trying then after grieving not having a biological child open their hearts to adoption. unexpectedly having the biological child they had given up on ever having doesn't negate the progress they went through or make them love either child differently.
Having her and Mon-El together season 5?...that would seem MUCH more legit. Give the relationship angle a break....loooonnnggg break.
I'd be down for this. I could see both of them not wanting to jump right back into a relationship after everything they've been through. Let Kara take a page out of Eliza's book and say they need to get to know each other again. I would also like to see Mon-El taking time to process the end of his relationship with Imra and the ending of the life he thought he was going to have.

Honestly, I could see this possibly, POSSIBLY a catalyst for Lena to stray into the dark grey--Sam being revealed as Reign, yet Supergirl being the reason for Sam's ultimate death. After all, we have been told of the triangle that will arise between Kara, Supergirl, and Lena. Couple that with a death or "removal" of Sam from earth = a visit into the darker grey for Lena.

While this isn't a confirmed season finale title, it's believable. After last night's episode I think M'yrnn will sacrifice himself both to save his son and his new family and spare J'onn the pain of watching his father lose who he is.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Here’s an idea. Why don’t they make her single from now on? Seems the most reasonble choice, and hopefully contains new ships from being formed. Just in the last season have her get with someone.

"I personally believe that if someone only watches a show for a "ship", and refuses to watch because it's not, or is no longer, canon, then good riddance. You were never truly a fan of that show."

Thank you sir. Once when I told a crazed shipper to stop disruptiong SG tweets, they told me to stop b*tching and leave them to do what they are passionate about.

I hardly see anyone that passionate about the show itself. If your sole interest is the imagined pairing of particular TV characters, then what a sad passion it is. Grow up. Wake up.

Every time I look in the comments section in Twitter from anything the staff or CW account tweets, I regret. The infestation of shipping has utterly corrupted and hijacked the enjoyment of the show by normal people.

I think the last "hardcore" ships that I had were Lorelei/Luke and Rory/Dean in Gilmore Girls. I can remember being disappointed when Rory and Dean didn't pan out but, it didn't keep me from watching or from enjoying it as I watched. I see absolutely nothing wrong with people shipping but, in the case of SG, the constant whining and nagging by some shippers on social media is so extensive that it dampens the enjoyment of the show for me. The writers and network feeding into it doesn't help either. So, if all of the ships did crash and burn at the end of the season, I would be perfectly content and that's the only spoiler I would want. My only question would be, why wait til the end?

The rumors floating today came from reddit. I kinda sorta skimmed over them, and can't see how they are true, being they haven't filmed the finale, yet. I could see where rumors could occur for people on set as an episode is filming. But, being even the cast has said they don't know fully what is coming down the pipes until a week or two before hand, I'm just not thinking anything supposedly "leaking" right now would be true. Just my take on it.
