I personally think that since they are in a irl relationship they do have a good chance of getting back together. I am not saying this because I ship Karamel, I am saying this because it makes the show a lot more interesting when Kara has a love interest because it proves how venerable she can make herself and gives Alex a time to shine as a big sis. I hope you are all excited for later tonight! I know I am!!

I don't think attending cons is something the actors cannot do if they have a chance. As someone said on a forum I read, if the actors refused to go to these cons, they would be harassed too. Melissa was insulted by that guy who was an organiser. Pretty sure, if it is an LGBT con, some people (emphasis on some) would even consider those who refuse to go a bigot. Also.. it is possible the showrunners/and producers themselves encourage attending the cons. It is good promotion for them.

Besides... Media and entertainment--the stories that are told--that does mean a lot to people; especially to scary teens in lonely circumstances who wonder if something is wrong with them because they are different from everyone around them. As someone said.. ."Monsters don't cast reflections. Not seeing your reflection will make a monster out of you" ; or make you feel like monster.

But expecting any kind of reflection rather than generic and archetypal is not good. And as Kelly says it is harmful. Beyond just the initial superficial validation, for any innate contentment, you should look towards the real world and what it offers; friendship, jobs, relationships, hobbies. To base your happiness on what fiction does...well, they would need help. Also, there would be a difference between pleasure and happiness. You may be pleased that something happens your way in a story or show you follow. Just like you would be happy if you were to get a cup of coffee you like when you are tired. But, happiness would be so much more and it should be about your life and what happens in it.

PS; about ships; Chyler said during Clexacon (I watched Alex's panel) that Alex's identity is not about her relationship; that the arc was a way for her to grow and know more about herself; which is also true for Kara.. and everyone else, really.

I agree.....wholeheatedly with your comments on the cons. HOWEVER, there is good and bad timing, and IMO, there was some bad timing on this. There is far too much drama within some fandoms that are relentlessly targeting the writers and show runners calling for firings, etc. IMO, and again this is just my opinion....right now silence is golden and very much something that I think is needed to show cohesion within the inner workings of this series....AT THIS TIME. NOW, if they write Alex into another relationship, and that relationship continues to grow, then yes by all means, Clexacon here she comes. I, me, my opinion is....this was not good timing.

RIP Karamel 2017-2018 (post this episode)

I vote for no more dating with anyone in the future.

Let's examine what the romance kerfuffle has done

- Karamel fans are now angry. They got hyped up from last season, then thrice denied. First split, Mon-El leaves, returns but married, teased about reconciliation, reconciliation denied

- I don't even know how SuperCorp came to be, but they're angry too and have been angry from the start. They get angry every time Mon-El appears no matter what he does, or even if Karamel is dead, and now they probably get angry at James too.

- Both camps are angry with the show and angry with each-other, and apparently 90% of the visible fandom is from either ship, resulting the social media relating to the show a war zone utterly hazardous to anyone who doesn't ship.

- Future pairings will only generate new ships and new counter-ships, and old ones don't die. Those guys will be angry with each other, with KM and SC still going at it, and probably angry at the future ships too.

- Marc Guggenheim gleefully laughs at the Arrow method being so successfully repeated

By what?

By what? By WHAT?? Fedguy, are you extra tired right now? Lol Maggie leaving the show, that's what. *waits for Fedguy to pause, slap his forehead, and say "Ooohhhh yyyeeaaahhh, ddduuuhhh* lol

I felt relieved when that happened, didn’t notice. (Sanvers calls airstrike on my location in 3,2,1)

I understand that Supergirl has no true endgame, but would it be safe to say that Brainy is her main 'love interest' in the cb world?

And yes I didn't mean they were together for decades, but instead have a history of being together in multiple comic series that have spanned decades.

I actually don't know that i'ts safe to say that Brainy is her main love interest in the "Comic Book" world.

I've read Supergirl books since the 1990's, and tried to catch up on things prior to that. And I've tried to look up her and Brainy, prior to that. From what I can tell, if they were together, it was incredibly brief, and in the Silver Age. He's always had more of a "puppy love" vibe towards her, that either went unrequited, or that she left in favor of her life as Supergirl in the present, as opposed to staying with him in the future. This puppy love aspect was worked into other mediums, like when the Legion appeared in "Justice League Unlimited", and Brainiac 5 had a crush on Supergirl. Though, in that one episode, she seemed to recepricate by the end.

Those old comics were also super sexist, with many issues focusing on Supergirl crying over a one-issue boyfriend, or super villains wanting to make Supergirl their mate, or breed with her. Super creepy.

In reality, the longest relationship of Supergirl's that I know of is Alexander Luthor (Supposedly Lex's son, but in reality Lex in a younger clone body of himself). Lex used Supergirl to his own ends, before she realized it and turned on him. And that wasn't even the "Kara Zor-El" version of Supergirl. That was the weird "Matrix" Supergirl that existed in the 1990's.

Ever since Supergirl was rebooted in 2004 and brought Kara Zor-El back into continuity, she hasn't had a real long term relationship. She had an abusive 2 issue relationship with Power Boy (who she proceeded to beat the crap out of). Brainy has appeared, and professed his love, but she wasn't the Supergirl he knew (as he knew the Pre-Crisis Supergirl), so she didn't know him.

She didn't really have any relationships in the New 52 continuity. She might now have a boyfriend in Rebirth, as I'm about 5 issues behind on my reading.

Bottom line, the thing I've always loved about Supergirl is that she didn't have / didn't need a long term/main love interest. And personally, that's how I prefer the show.

It's honestly the same thing I loved, for a long time, about Batgirl. Yes, she'd had an on-again-off-again thing with Dick Grayson, but she never NEEDED to be with him, the way Superman needed Lois, Flash needed Iris, etc.

Just my thoughts. It's fine to want her and Brainy to hook up, I guess. I just really wouldn't consider him, or anyone else, her "main" love interest, in the comics.

I don't mind relationships, per say, as long as they don't overpower the show. And that was the really big problem with both Mon-El and Maggie. That is ALL that season 2 was. And that annoys me.

I don't mean decades as in that is how long they were together....I mean spanned decades in different iterations of the comics. As with all that she has a relationship with....she gets with none of them, which is why I do the "eye roll" thing when anyone says she had an endgame with any particular relationship.

I love it when I'm proven right, and I didn't have to lift a finger......hahahahahahahahaha:D

On the other hand, whoever put that timeline together has AAAAALOOOOT of time on their hands. :o

Somehow the topic I brought up about Kara and Brainiac 5 being the closest thing to an 'endgame' made its way to twitter (someone shared a link to this forum topic).

The twitter user, in a thread, goes through Kara and Brainy's history together in case some of you are interested. I'm not a big comic book reader so all of this information was new to me. They've also compiled what looks like a timeline of the history between Kara and Brainy. I've linked both the thread and timeline below.

Twitter thread

Their shared history timeline

Bah ha ha looks like, DraftingDrafter, peeps are intrigued by our comments on here. A month or so ago, something I said ended up on reddit as a discussion. I just happened to see a link to it on Twitter. I wonder how many other things have ended up on reddit and other places from here #TeamSupergirltv :p I like our crew and admins.

Since I don't spend much time on twitter I was surprised that I came across that particular Kara/Brainy thread, and even more surprised that it was all in response to the discussion being had here! But it's nice to have it confirmed that they have an extensive history together (both romantic and not).

I too wonder what else has made its way from this site to other social media platforms........

By the term heart wrenching...I think someone dies...and I am afraid it might be Samantha/Reign. The title of it in case you haven't heard is "Battles Lost and Won." Perhaps that "Won" will refer to Supergirl's ultimate defeat of Reign.

Honestly, I could see this possibly, POSSIBLY a catalyst for Lena to stray into the dark grey--Sam being revealed as Reign, yet Supergirl being the reason for Sam's ultimate death. After all, we have been told of the triangle that will arise between Kara, Supergirl, and Lena. Couple that with a death or "removal" of Sam from earth = a visit into the darker grey for Lena.

While this isn't a confirmed season finale title, it's believable. After last night's episode I think M'yrnn will sacrifice himself both to save his son and his new family and spare J'onn the pain of watching his father lose who he is.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Here’s an idea. Why don’t they make her single from now on? Seems the most reasonble choice, and hopefully contains new ships from being formed. Just in the last season have her get with someone.

The rumors floating today came from reddit. I kinda sorta skimmed over them, and can't see how they are true, being they haven't filmed the finale, yet. I could see where rumors could occur for people on set as an episode is filming. But, being even the cast has said they don't know fully what is coming down the pipes until a week or two before hand, I'm just not thinking anything supposedly "leaking" right now would be true. Just my take on it.

The posts on Twitter that I find the saddest are those that tweet that this or that relationship validates them, or makes them whole, or makes them feel like they are valid in some way. That to me is extremely sad commentary because that is putting all that you are into a fictional world and all of those things need to come from within, not from a fictional TV show. The numbers of these tweets are growing, and unfortunately, some of the actors involved in these ships are perpetuating that feeling IMO. When you as the actor "likes" or even says "thank you" or comments to these types of posts you are helping to perpetuate, IMO, a very, very harmful way of thinking to these people. IMO, the actors involved in some of these toxic fandoms have helped continue the vitriol because through their tweets, or likes and even some of the cons they are choosing to go to are perpetuating those feelings. I think it is sad and pretty damn scary.

And let me clear, I am not talking about the wonderful stories of people coming out because they felt inspired by Alex's story.....those are fantastic stories and should high fived for sure....but they should also begin to seek out people in their own lives to help support them in these times, not actors on a fictional show.

This. I feel the same way.

Good question. I've seen pictures on Twitter of set props coming from fans watching this week's on location filming. They're speculating it's Krypton. Eric/Kelsey...do y'all know episode #?

episode 20 has some “Argo” city scenes yes. But before we go on, in light of the tumblr spoilers that were leaked earlier this week, we have it on good authority that much of what was said is wrong. It was a plausible outcome presented as fact. So we urge much caution about reading into any of that mess

Yeah they will get together again. They are an endgame couple ala Delena, WestAllen, Olicity. We seen all kinds of angst thrown their way too. Its the exact same with Kara and Mon-El

Well, it is for sure, someone will be eating some crow....those that swear by endgame, or those that say no way.

I for one, don't really care, but them getting together this season or next would not be cool.

Honestly this show needs two things. Either no pairings ever, or an actual endgame pairing. CW writers have an unhealthy obsession of milking separation drama. It creates chaos like this.

Which is why Flash, which has a endgame pairing with which no one can argue, has peaceful, normal fans. The focus isn’t on the romance and that’s not what its fans care about.

Arrow and Supergirl milks the relationship drama and that attracted tons with the “ship” mentality, until they cannot even try to give Kara a friend without thousands chanting they want them to bang.
