Supergirl Season 6 Info/News/Speculation

16 episodes is perfectly fine with me, as long as they are Kara/Supergirl heavy, with lots of Supergirl action. If it is an episode of the week for each character like they like to do, then no thanks, that would leave about 5 episodes for Supergirl.....but 16 Eps of Supergirl heavy episodes would be more than any other season.....lol

Interesting thoughts on this article on Brainy... I am thinking the Big Brain plays into whatever they have planned.

This is from September 11th from David’s IG. He is quarantining for Season 6. The 9/28 start date seems accurate.

As Lightning and Stargirl are on different Earths in the CWVerse/Berlantiverse/Arrowverse, you probably won't have to worry... I am hoping they keep the Earths separate and not reopen the Multiverse.

Yes... BL is Earth Prime but Stargirl is Earth 2, so I don't see Lightning on Stargirl unless they open the Multiverse up again...

Not sure about the multiverse. I mean...we know it EXISTS...it's just locked off, for whatever narrative reason. I think in the end, it's going to depend on if they want Stargirl to interact with other shows. If they do, they'll find a way to re-introduce the multiverse. If not, they'll keep it separate, since every other CW hero is on Earth Prime.

I think the status quo will stay through this upcoming season. With Supergirl's season starting later, and there not even being a production start date for Stargirl season 2, there is no reason to open up the multiverse this year. Heck, I'm not even sure we're getting ANY crossovers this year. I know they were planning one for Batwoman and Superman/Lois, but that was all prior to Ruby's departure.

I'm aware that many fans love the crossover stuff but I find it to deep for me. My favorite crossover was the one with the Music Guy which I found to be very enjoyable. I guess I would like to see what they have in mind with the new shows like Stargirl and the rest.
I hope the show doesn't follow the comics concerning Stargirl and not add Lightning to the cast. I would prefer that they build on season 1 which was a blockbuster. No need to add or subtract in season 2. Steady as she goes baby.

I'm pretty happy with 16 episodes if that is accurate.

It’s interesting that Flash is suppose to have 17 and they’ve got a lot more of last seasons plot to finish than Supergirl. When the network President said full 20+ episode seasons last May I thought that was optimistic at best. Supergirl isn’t winding up starting later than the other shows I don’t think anyone thought that would happen. I don’t think it’s going to change but the reasonable back in May, due to the pregnancy, decision to have Supergirl be “mid season” isn’t really applicable anymore.

I always thought 20 + episodes this season was unrealistic.There was some speculation that the seasons for Supergirl & The Flash are ending when they are so Melissa & Grant can participate in the Batwoman/Superman & Lois crossover.That probably would be easier especially this year to have their shows already wrapped before filming the crossover.Interesting idea anyway even if it's just speculation.

Keeping Supergirl mid-season may still make sense since they have so many DC shows and the season isn't starting until Jan.They've got seven DC shows(The Flash,Supergirl,Legends,Black Lightning Batwoman,Stargirl and Superman & Lois).

Have The Flash,Black Lightning,Batwoman,Superman & Lois come out of the gate first.Followed by Supergirl ,Legends and Stargirl.Stargirl could be a summer show again.It did very well this year during that period.

Thinking of crossovers.Probably not for this year but as much and I would love to see a Stargirl/Supergirl and or Stargirl/Flash crossover,what about a Stargirl/Black Lightning crossover?

1)Stargirl and Black Lightning both film in Atlanta so that would be easier to do then a crossover with the Vancouver based shows.

2)In the comics,Jennifer Pierce/Lightning joins the JSA and becomes good friends with Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl.I could certainly see a friendship forming between them on the shows too.

This is a generally reliable source. 16 episodes sounds reasonable and in line with what I was expecting. They said filming will start on 9/28 which is the day Jesse said would be his first day so that tracks. We’ll see if/how long they go without Melissa. I’m beginning to think she’s already had the baby and they’ve just not made a public announcement. She did that IG live nine weeks ago, on 7/7 and said she was close.

I do prefer the original suit more but agree with others.,the pants are here to stay.I could see tweaks happening though.For example,IMO adding some red to the pants would be a improvement.

I agree. I merely wanted to express how I didn't like the fit or aesthetic of THIS particular suit with pants. For that reason, I wouldn't mind another upgrade/modification.

The pants don't bother me. I thought her original suit was best but I am ok with change. Considering the suit is nanobot technology, it seems they could incorporate various settings with different super suit variations for different occasions. This could potentially satisfy the broadest spectrum of fans while not forcing Melissa into skirts on the colder days. Hopefully we will start to get new season info in the upcoming months.

The current look just doesn't work and the cape with clasps, onesie get-up, and hairstyle don't gel properly. I understand the reasoning behind why they did the change-up for S5, but visually speaking, it's a massive dud.

Pants are OK if used for a different iteration/version of the character (i.e. animated feature or from the get-go in a live action film) but not for a character that has already been established with a certain look and feel. It's the equivalent of taking a BMW and adding a Trabant/Lada engine to the mix.

I agree, the pants, no pants issue is very sensitive so I will keep my remarks short. Melissa is going to have a lot of work ahead of her if she's going to fit into those pants. I have no doubt that she's up to the task but it may take months to tone up. I'm just saying.

I still can't help to think they chose to release supporting cast posters because they may tweak the suits of the primary characters ( Supergirl, Flash). The Flash suit changes regularly. Supergirl held steady for 4 years, but may be getting a second makeover.

I always love that they do a trailer like this each year to tease all the Arrowverse shows.It usually is released at Comic Con.I thought they might be saving it for the second day of DC FanDome on September 12 when the TV Shows will be focused on.Glad to have it now though.
