Mel for Entertainment Weekly:
I don't think it would've been a right goodbye if the people who came back hadn't come back, so I'm very grateful that they did. It's always difficult to get that many people back in the same place, especially in the pandemic, so I'm really glad it worked out that way."
She continued: "Story-wise, it's really lovely the capacity in which all the characters return."

Yes,I was very happy a few weeks ago when this was spoiled during the location shoots of the finale.I really hoped we would get some returning legacy characters and I'm thrilled we are.
Calista Flockhart was always unlikely and while I would of loved to have seen Odette Annable
back as Sam,I think she's filming another show in the U.S.I know she was on Walker this year which films in Texas.
I though there was a good shot at getting Chris back since he's been with Melissa in Vancouver even though back in March the showrunners said there weren't plans.I always thought they were just not ready to reveal it back then and so lied. It's a common practice when trying to hide things.
But I wasn't sure we would get Jeremy or Mehcad back.Back in like December,Jeremy said he hadn't been contacted yet.Either A}he was fibbing or B)it was too soon for the show to contact him.
When he was promoting Mortal Kombat, Mehcad said he wasn't appearing so the same A) and B) options may have been in play for him like Jeremy.
So I'm very happy we're getting the
original Team Supergirl back for the finale,Kara,Alex,J'onn,James and Winn all together again for the first time since the end of Season 3.And Mon-El is a early season legacty too.Again, this will be the first time since the end of season 3 that they''ll all be together,
The only thing that would be a icing on the cake IMO is if Barry & Clark pop in for a appearance but unless they shot something from their respective sets via green screen, that's not happening.I also am still hoping that there is some type of payoff before the end of the series that Kate paid her friend in National City a visit as she said was doing in the Batwoman season finale.Even if Wallis Day doesn't appear in one of these next 12 episodes(and in theory she could since Batwoman finished Season 2 filming in early May),just a mention of Kate dropping by offscreen would satisfy me fine.
But very happy that Winn,James and Mon-El will be back.
