I thought that it might be nice to have one place to discuss the character of Reign as we progress through this season. While I'm a bit sad about the character turning evil, I am very eager to see the extent that the writers will go with the villain. She has the possibility of being quite the formidable foe for Supergirl.
Perhaps we can start with some facts about her that we know at the moment and add to the list as we find out more details.
I'll start a list and I can add to it later. Even though the character exists in the comics, I thought that it might be better to keep those facts off the list until they present themselves as we're not sure what aspects the writers will use from her comic book counterpart. But, feel free to discuss any aspect of the character.

https://supergirl.tv/both-sides-now-synopsisPurity - based on what Reign told Kara about the belief that the world needed cleansing and that it had fallen into sin, the name Purity seems appropriate for a World Killer. They are, after all, the instruments used to rid these things from the earth.
We now know the name of Reign's first recruit for her army.
I wonder if the writers are going with some type of a Greek God/Christianity mixed approach in the naming of the World Killers and their belief system.

We now know the name of her compatriots as the priestess said, The Power, The Pestilence, and The Purity. Although I wonder if 'the Power' refers to Reign or not. Kara seemed to think it did. I wonder who they have cast for Pestilence though.

If the Priestness was listing their names, as it appears that she was since she named Purity, then I'm not sure why she wouldn't have said Reign instead of Power. Hopefully, there are three others besides Reign and Power is the name of one of themhttps://supergirl.tv/both-sides-now-synopsisPurity - based on what Reign told Kara about the belief that the world needed cleansing and that it had fallen into sin, the name Purity seems appropriate for a World Killer. The Supergirl Character Who May Be Reign's Next Major Target, cinemablend.com article.
I find this unlikely. May be it is Winn given the upcoming episode that will focus on him.
I remember reading somewhere that Melissa said there will be conflict within the team about how to handle Reign. If it was not referring to Fort Rozz, I wonder if that means Kara will be for trying to reach her better side and the rest will be for destroying her.

I've always figured the next person in danger would be Ruby.

Haven't read the article, yet. But, I have to wonder... if Alex does experiments to determine what's up with Sam, will Reign make a sudden appearance to try and stop Alex from sharing her secret?

Maybe, I am not quite sure how this is going to play out, because it seems to me that Alex running any sort of medical tests would mean that monday's episode is where Sam's identity is exposed.

I think that Reign is going to be so busy trying to reign (sorry
) in her army that she won't be participating in any personal attacks in the near future.
From what I have been able to tell, Reign doesn't remember anything of her experience being Sam, just as Sam doesn't remember anything of Reign. And it appears as though there is a trigger to her switch that is related to her seeing someone who needs the strong arm of justice put to them. But, I suppose if Alex tries to take blood, that could possibly provoke a trigger. Would be interesting to see Alex fending off Reign with a crutch

Yeah, I found it interesting that Reign referred to Sam as this "human" inside of me.

And the hologram lady told her to stop 'making excuses', so the hologram does not consider Sam a threat. But I do think she means the 'human side'. Sam did seem to have powers outside of Reign as she put her hand in the boiling water and was not hurt in full Sam form.

Yes, I heard that, too. But, knowing that there is a human inside her and being aware of what that human sees and does is not necessarily the same thing.I think that Reign is going to be so busy trying to reign (sorry) in her army that she won't be participating in any personal attacks in the near future.

If Reign was aware of what Sam saw, then Reign should know of the connection with Alex and J'onn and Supergirl. Sam was at the Christmas party - saw both Alex and J'onn. And both Alex and J'onn were at the bank, leading the fight to capture Reign. Additionally, Reign broke Alex's leg and Sam also knows that Alex just got a broken leg. So, if Reign is aware of what Sam knows and what Sam sees then she should have been able to put two and two together by now and probably would have tried to at least take out Alex. I would even go as far as believing that Reign would know that Kara was Supergirl based on the combined experiences of Sam and Reign.
So either Reign isn't actually cognitive of the specifics of Sam's daily interactions or it's pretty poor writing.

I don't think they are cognitive of each other at all, at least not at the moment...and it seems that seeing enemies, or people that need to be taken care of triggers Reign, whereas it looks like it is Ruby that triggers Sam.

However, with that theory... somehow Reign knows to get dressed in Sam's clothes, again...as well as, hide her costume underneath. And, as was the case this past Monday, knew to pick up Ruby from Alex's. Or, as has been the case in previous episodes, knows to drive/fly back home after being "done" with her Reigny tasks.

The Reign outfit under Sam's clothes at work bothers me a lot. So are we expected to believe that every time Sam changes clothes/goes to the bathroom Reign erases her mind about seeing the Reign outfit under her clothes? Maybe I'm over thinking this.

No, I don't think you're overthinking it at all. Yeah, I was thinking they weren't under her clothes, that like in the new Supergirl novelette she stashed them places like Kara would do, until we got the shirt rip....and then I was like....What the heck?

People perform all kinds of complex actions under hypnosis, and then have no memory of doing them.
I think that's what the Fortress AI is for, to induce "post-hypnotic suggestions" that cover up Reign's activities while Sam is in control, allowing her a "hiding place" till all the pieces are in place for conquering Earth.

That's an excellent point. It's actually so good that I think I'm now squared away with wondering how Sam is able to get back to her house and whatnot. I still find the trying to go to the bathroom but findin you have a Reign outfit underneath puzzling.
