Well, I will be seeing Mel on Broadway next week and I am excited. I like Carole King's music and with Mel's talent I expect to not be disappointed.

I saw muckle9999 at today’s performance and tapped him on the shoulder as promised. I will hand in a review later with pictures. Just let me say that Melissa gave me goosebumps when she sang “It’s Too Late.” She is one heck of a fine actress and singer. I was no more than 10-15 away from her. Live theater is unforgiving and Melissa knocked it out of the ballpark! All her performances through August 4th are sold out.

Saw Melissa's final performance on Saturday night and she was magnificent, even better than I had hoped for. Her personality fills the auditorium and you can't take your eyes off her, even when she is just standing to the side. And her voice was pitch perfect. I cannot find enough superlatives to describe her performance. The thunderous ovation she got at curtain call was the loudest I've ever heard. We are witnesses to the birth of a super star (no pun intended; she is the real deal).

I waited at the stage door hoping she would come out, but she didn't. Can't say I blame her as there were easily over a thousand people there, which must create logistical and security/safety headaches. It was also rumored that Chris Wood was there, although I did not see him. Anyway, if any of you ever get the chance to see her in person, do it. I've been wanting to get to New York again for a long time, but Melissa being there clinched the deal.

Just got home from seeing Melissa on Broadway. Front row aisle seats and no more then 6 feet from the stage. Argo was right behind me and we had a nice conversation about our girl. Melissa hit a home run with all the songs that she sang. Plus we all know how great of an actress she is and she displayed her acting skills as well.
She spent a lot of time on our side of the stage and I did get a chance to flash her with the house of EL tee shirt. She smiled. After the show Argo and I and my lady friends went to the stage door with hopes of seeing her and getting her autograph which we did. She is more pretty in person and her smile is amazing. I told her that she is a very talented young lady and her and Chris are the Hepburn and Tracy of TV. Well, she was wowed and had a smile from ear to ear. She is a real sweetheart. Great time!

Just read on Twitter that a fan attending Beautiful yesterday saw Chyler at yesterday's matinee. Yay!! Was hoping she'd get to support Melissa. Hoping to hear of other cast members going.
Awesome, I hope she and Nathan brought the kids to see "auntie" Melissa on stage. From what I understand the show is appropriate for the ages of their kids.

LOL Mr. Broadway Jeremy better show up. :p

What I really want is for Carole King herself to surprise her at the end of a performance. Even better if Melissa's mom, who is a huge Carole King fan, is there at the same time.
Hope, Help and Compassion for all

Here's an even better video if Carole surprising Melissa because it starts from when the cast is finishing the last number and Carole walks on when Melissa is turned the other direction. At one point, you see Mel say, "Mom!!" who was in the front row.

Melissa did another interview recently, or perhaps today. She spoke to WNBC-TV's New York Live, a lifestyle show which airs at 11:30 AM EST after News 4 NY at 11:00.

EDIT: I should've mentioned that Melissa has been to two Plazas...PIX Plaza, which is the nickname for WPIX's studios at 220 East 42nd Street, and 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the legendary home to NBC, and WNBC-TV channel 4

This is my promised report on seeing Melissa play on Broadway.

She was fantastic, even better than we can imagine. She’s got a great future ahead of her. Her singing was outstanding. In fact when she sang”It’s Too Late”, I got goosebumps! When she signed my program. I told her that her singing gave me goosebumps and she smiled and thanked me.

In real life, she is a shrimp ?. She’s tall, but skinny, small boned. When she’s signing autographs. She doesn’t appear to be that tall. I was at the most 10-15 feet from the stage, and at times, she was really close to my section. I had a great view and the theater is well designed for maximum viewing.

There were plenty of old farts in the audience, aside from Supergirl fans. Her whole performance is sold out through August 4. There are no tickets available.

One of our fellow forum writers was right in front of me. His companion had seen the show when it first came out. She mentioned that Melissa was far better than her predecessor!

I wish they could tape her performance so others might see it on TV. It was that good. And the cast, was absolutely wonderful. The second autograph is her leading man.

Really, this is a woman to watch beyond Supergirl. I suspect that with this performance she will receive far better personal offers during her breaks from Supergirl.

I liked what Carole King said about Melissa's tapping.. And she seems to be a great personality. :)

I love Carole King so I am very interested in seeing how Melissa does with her songs. Based on what I have heard from her through Glee and other performances, I think she will be a good fit for both the character and the voice.

If this turns out well for her, I could easily see her go onto Broadway full time after Supergirl ends.

To me, still one of the best videos that shows just how strong a voice she actually has....and stood toe to toe with Miss "I'm Going To Broadway".....

Here is Mel performing one of the songs from the musical....
That little teaser sounded great! But, now I am greedy for more! :D

Not one to express it but I be feeling some jealousy here Argo.
Oh, I have no shame, I'm completely jealous.

PIX11 interview

PIX11 Video

RATS! Got beaten to it. I did catch a little bit of it. The part that made me laugh was the discovery of the word "Supergirling" LOL!!!!! I've heard of fangirling and fanboying...but never that.

AND THAT LAUGH! But this was your typical light fare that is entertainment news, even on WPIX channel 11, whose building as we all know was used as the Daily Planet in the Superman movies...at least when the NY Daily News was at that building at 220 E. 42nd in NYC which also calls itself PIX Plaza.
