Watching The Flash yesterday and saw Barry talk with Caitlin and Cisco, I was reminded that he had good, amicable and meaningful interactions with every member of his team. Regardless of gender.

It feels like Kara alienates her male friends. It did not begin like that in S1 but it appears more and more she acts like she has something to prove in the affirmative action gone wrong kind of way.

E.g., yesterday, Winn and James offered to go with her, First thing she said was she didn't need their protection. Of course she didn't, they all know her powers, Winn and James were just doing what friends do. Logically, why would she even think that if not to satisfy a "feminist" (I put a quotation mark because I don't want to sully the reputation of genuine feminism) undertone the writers desire?

Untertones aside, as maybe I got it all wrong as to why, she hasn't had a decent conversation with Winn for the past two seasons. It feels she sees him less as a friend and more as an assistant for tech inquiries during missions, because that is honestly the only times they talk. And many times Winn has shown real care for her (as a friend and human being, not romantically), and I've never seen that reciprocated.

After re-reading my post, I realize that what I said and what I meant are not the same. I meant to say that I have not noticed any friction between Kara and Winn. Proofreading - so, so important ;) .

Kelly- Perhaps "back to" wasn't a good choice of words because I agree with you that people do change, sometimes for the better sometimes not so much. I also know that my view on their relationship is limited because I did not see how that relationship progressed last season. I definitely do not want Winn chasing after Kara; I believe they both have moved past that phase. I'm not sure exactly what I want to see in their relationship, lol. I think I'm just a bit nostalgic for the intimacy of friendship that they all shared in season 1. Obviously, that came from the newness of Kara being SG and both Winn and James being there to help her grow into the role. Now, that she is more comfortable with herself, I don't know how the writer's could re-establish that feeling. Perhaps they shouldn't. It's just wishful thinking on my part.

SSVA - Spot on with how you wrote the relationships between Kara and her crew.
