In morals ...
What's the story?
Their scenes are few and James is absolutely unnecessary this season!
Are they just doing this to give him some function?
For even the Punisher is not fitting into this story.
He and Lena are absolutely something without chemistry because the episodes they appear together or he is being mean to her ...
As at first she was just helping him and Catco and he keeps treating her with contempt for not letting her ...
She's been in the series since last season!
And now in a few episodes will a crazy passion come out?
Spare me!

I don't think that is what they want. Not entirely a bad idea though.

James is utterly useless. Too many insane fans want to pair Lena with any female character they see.

Put James with Lena, two birds in one stone. James has a point, and Lena shippers silenced forever.

If you think that will make people stop shipping you are wrong, if anything it will increase it. And Lena is such a better character, she deserves a better story line then James romance. She is all that currently makes him even relevant. Just how I feel : )

James is boring and really unimportant in my opinion. I thing that is the real reason for the romance, because they don't know what to do with him. I also think it is dumb they go from him giving her crap all the time about the company and her being a Luthor, straight to a romance? Just plain stupid to me. Just my opinions.

For me, it is the same thing that made me dislike James and how he handles his love interests from Season 1, it is the same thing that turned me off of Alex and Maggie this season, WORK IS WORK AND TALK OR MAKING OUT SESSIONS ABOUT LOVE LIFE IS ANOTHER. You don't mix them. The massive make out sessions at work just turn me off. It is beyond unprofessional and a total turn off for me. Also, he is as wishy washy as ever....one minute he doesn't trust Lena, the next minute he is in a huge make out session with her at work. Just not something I enjoy watching.

If it's a passive enjoyment, such as watching and supporting a show (in this case, Supergirl), there is definitely no harm nor foul in this. Yet, when it becomes an obsession or a projection / wish (fantasy) fulfillment and it promotes or leads to unnatural behaviour such as trolling celebrity accounts, resorting to vile, demeaning and derogatory postings, or demanding a specific agenda / script / or orthodox comic book lore be followed and vowing retribution if it isn't met or adhered to a T, then it has crossed the line from fan to fanatic.

The unfortunate thing about this, is the fanatics tend to have a flock-like mentality and tend to scream their displeasure rather than simply state it and move on. Civility has long since left the building on many media platforms and the only way to shut them out is to block or stop using certain social media platforms. He/she who screams loudest should not get their wishes fulfilled until a measure of civility and decency are learned. Some never will.

Or to put it another way, there are lines people end up crossing and some of them could lead to disaster.

100% behind you on this Jtardy. Just because someone enjoys something doesn't automatically equate them with any type of fandom. It is simply a preference for something. It's like choosing one type of ice cream over another.

Not even seen the crossover yet: it finishes here tomorrow.

The only thing I have ever shipped is a parcel, though perversely it was sent by train.

I was a “fan” as a youth (eg The Beatles; Jacqueline du Pre) but I grew out of it!

I still adore them, and especially now of course Supergirl. If that means I have to be called a fan, so be it. But I will not be a member of a fandom. I am an individual, who happens to like the company and shared interest of most of the other users of this site. Surely, we don’t have to be called a fandom, do we?

As for the shippers, this isn't going to silence any of them, like AT ALL. You guys are kidding yourself if you honestly think this pairing has 'killed' any of the Lena ships. If anything the flames have been fanned.

Then it is worse than I thought. Regardless, the ships must die, or the fandom does.

You should've seen social media a few hours ago, the chaos was unbelievable! The KM and SC shippers were in meltdown mode, but now they all seem collectively angry. All it took was one episode to unite the shippers in shared fury lol

As far as Lena/James.....I don't really see any chemistry between them, so at this point...whatever. As far as #Supercorp, #Sanvers and #Karamel....... I think its pretty damn funny that the writers simply don't give a $*** about the moaning and groaning....good for them.

I'm done, RobertAnthony. I'm done. I used to back Karamel back when I wasn't wiser. You know what Agent Smith says about humans? Apply that to the ships. I echo your feels.

Too many times have I made the mistake of checking the comments of a post by the SGCW account or one of the stars, thinking I will find what people actually thought about the contents of the post, only to run into another damn ship war, or "KARAMEL IS ENDGAME" "BRING BACK MONEL" "MORE KATIE PLS" "WHERE IS KATIE" "I LOVE KATIE" "REIGNCORP" "SUPERCORP" "POST A PHOTO OF MELISSA AND KATIE" "(Insert Name of Female Character)CORP"

It's like Arrow too. All the comments are either "OLICITY <3" or "OLICITY IS BRAINDEAD"

I see a tweet like that and I immediately mute them....I was over the ships, before the ships started. They are all parasites on this show and others.

It's worse than a plague as one poster said...dare I say this is a cancer on the fandom of this show and/or the other Arrowverse shows. And it's one that has to be killed or else it will metastasize (there's a $5 word for you) and reach advance stage. The solution...for me anyway...is to no longer post on Twitter under any of the show's hashtags. I live tweeted last night's episode at Supergirl.TV's twitter, and that is that. No longer will I ever feed into these...zombies on social media.

Yeah see I’m not going after any ships specifically now. You’ve now seen it too. Ships sounds harmless in theory but in the case of the Supergirl fandom at least it’s like a plague. It takes any meaning and enjoyment from the actual show’s main plots and characterisations and turns it into a heated and unnecessary battle of fanfics

Ehhhh, there's no point in going after any ships, it does no one any good to do so. I've been in quite a few fandoms with high intensity shippers so being in this fandom isn't anything I haven't seen before. You just learn to tune the over-the-top shippers out.

I'm not too keen on the idea of a James/Lena. It's almost like the writers don't know what to do with James anymore so they decided to throw him into a relationship that, imo, came almost out of nowhere. I wish there would've been some kind of build up between them...

I was seeing some chemistry, until they kissed.....he's just really stiff when he kisses. :(

But, I'm ok with them being together, as long as they stop with the unprofessional crap of kissing at work, good grief James.

I was happy with how little they actually pulled from the main storyline, that wasn't bad at all.

I think Mehcad Brooks is entering the most improved category of things (until Guardian shows up again!) and his chemistry with Katie McGrath is like a Perrier water...sparkling.

Of course, you know all those stupid ReignCorp and SuperCorp shippers and shippers in general are still out there. Well for the former it's all gonna end tonight leaving the latter to wonder...if only. My three words to these social media people who's minds turn to mush...get a life.
