WTRMTMPSU Recap

There are only three episodes remaining in this "senior" season of Supergirl! Things are starting to really ramp up and it's all going to culminate with the return of the most interesting take on Lex Luthor since Gene Hackman. While the synopsis for the finale has us on the edge of our seat, we are excited to see how the final chess pieces are moved into place for Lex's ultimate strike! Tonight, Miss Tessmacher played a pivotal role in the Red Daughter saga! It kept us guessing until the end. Of course Ben made a huge stand in the DEO and Alex finally got a particular call! Here's what stood out to us:

  1. Fast Beginning: Kara and Lena get into Lena's plane to go to Kasnia. Lena took her state-of-the-art jet that can cloak and flies super-fast. Of course, this isn't fast enough for Kara because she wants the freedom to investigate with her superpowers. While running with Kelly, Alex gets a call that she is now able to adopt a child! She is so excited now that she is going to be a mom. Ben Lockwood is at his wife's funeral. He seems to be letting his son take the lead. Enraged, he runs out and heads to the DEO to task them with hunting down James, Dreamer and the Alien that killed his wife.
  2. Flight to Kasnia: Purple Lightning rains down from the sky striking Lena's self-flying jet. The electricity fries the operating system and the plane starts to go down. Lena jumps into action to reboot the plane. Kara uses the distraction to exit the plane and help it stay in the air until the system is rebooted. When Lena finally turns around after the plane lands, Kara is in her seat pretending to be passed out from the ordeal.
  3. Alex's Choice: Alex and Kelly start talking about Alex's choice. The situation is very different. The mother of the adoptable child is only 17 and already in labor. This means that the 17-year-old only chose one perspective parent for adoption instead of three. Alex was her choice. Alex turns to Kelly in Kara's absence to make the call. Acting as Kara, Kelly is able to get Alex to choose to be a mom!
  4. Miss Tessmacher: Kara and Lena are able to find Miss Tessmacher at a Kasnian facility. She is acting funny, forgetful and unintelligent. Something is amiss. Kara notes that several of the aliens from the DEO Desert facility have ended up in Kasnia. One specifically named "copy" who could duplicate himself but the copies got stronger and less-intelligent each time. Miss Tessmacher takes Kara and Lena to a staging area where they learn of Kasnia's plan to invade the United States. Lena notes that invading the United States with Kasnia's army would be like throwing a rock at a tank. While there, Kara finds footage of Red Daughter!
  5. Alex Loses the Baby: The 17-year-old decided to keep the baby after her grandparents called up a priest to talk with her. Kelly is with Alex when she learns that she won't have the baby.
  6. Tessmacher's Trap: Miss Tessmacher has powers. She has been able to adopt Copy's powers. This explains why she was acting so dumb. When another Miss Tessmacher arrives, she reabsorbs her other self and sets the building to self-destruct. Kara and Lena then need to work through the labyrinth of the Kasnian building and escape. Kara is able to discover Red Daughter's room first. She sees that she has been reading her diary, studying Kara and has pictures of Kara and Lena among all her other friends up on the wall. Kara panics and sends Lena to an air vent to escape. She claims she forgot her tape recorder and heads back to burn all the photos in Red Daughter's room with heat vision. Understandably, Lena is confused. Once Lena and Kara get to the top of the building they run into Miss Tessmacher again. She splits and one runs to Lena's plane and the others take on Supergirl.
  7. Trio of Battles: While Supergirl begins fighting the army of Miss Tessmachers, Lena goes one on one with another Miss Tessmacher. Additionally, Ben Lockwood goes up against Guardian, Dreamer and Brainiac. Ben Lockwood is able to get the upperhand on the trio with his new powers. Just then J'onn arrives and kicks Lockwood's butt! Lena is stabbed by Miss Tessmacher but it hits a USB that Kara gives her and saves her. Supergirl, fighting an army of Miss Tessmachers, finally gets fed up and flies away as the building explodes. All the Miss Tessmachers evaporate as the real one was never there. Kara then arrives at the plane and Lena is no longer worried she died in the building. They now know what Lex has been doing.
  8. The Flight Home: While on the flight home, it seems that Kara is ready to tell Lena that she is Supergirl. When Lena turns around Kara removes her glasses. Of course, Lena then gives a speech that Miss Tessmacher's betrayal was so huge that she could never handle it again. Kara realizes that this isn't the right time for her to tell Lena and puts her glasses back on.

Final wrap up moments. Alex doesn't get the baby. Kelly and Alex are back at Alex's apartment. Kelly tells Alex that she was once engaged too but she and her Sergeant couldn't be together while on active duty. The engagement ended because the Sergeant was killed in active duty. However, Kelly gets a note from her fiance that says she'll find another person that can make her smile. Ben returns to the church to find his son. His son tells Ben that he is wrong, that he is responsible for his mom's death because of this fight he is engaged in. He walks out on Ben telling him he hates him. Ben is alone but with more Harun-El. Kara and James debrief the events of Kasnia. She realizes that Lex already knows who she is. She decides that she will finally tell Lena who she is after Lex is brought to justice. James agrees. Kara then takes the map of the invasion to The President of the United States. When she walks into the White House, there is Kryptonite in the corner. Kara braves her way through it to bring the President up to speed. Kara gives the evidence to the President and he puts it in a drawer and then black bags Kara in the Oval Office.

i dont have passion to watch supergirl for the last 2-3 episode include this..

i do love the show, but the story way to many subplot..

season 1-3 my passion to watch supergirl is 100%..
this season only 60%..

if next season still like this season 4,im pretty sure they gonna lose many viewers.

Sad to say the show has already lost viewers. Season 4 ratings are down from season 2 (the first season on the CW).

I admit I don't have as much passion either but this is still the only Supergirl show we have so I still watch it faithfully. Besides these last three episodes we at last see Supergirl in action. Hopefully the writers at last realized that the point of a hero show is to show the hero in action not others.

Every series on CW is down, ratings and viewership is down across all tv series everywhere. People are just not watching live like they use to. Also, comparing a weekday rating and viewership with a weekend rating is apples to oranges in comparison. Also you look at the show as it stands with the other series on the same station. Supergirl is still the #2 rated Superhero show on the CW, and even it moving to Sunday it is #4 in ratings and #3 in viewers. Again with the move to Sunday, so really comparing this season with others? It is doing really well. Seriously any ratings talk as a negative for this season is just wrong. With all variables in place it is doing quite well on Sunday, and the CW is very happy with its performance. Just no negative there.

My initial rating was 4 stars. After a second viewing I wish I had given it 5. The Alex adoption story was less annoying the second time. Chyler's acting was really good (wow, what a surprise!), but frankly I didn't watch those scenes closely enough to appreciate that at first. I still feel that the whole adoption story would have been better left to next season; it just does not have any relevance during these climactic episodes. Any furtherance of the Alex/Kelly relationship during this season could easily be tied to Kelly helping Alex overcome the mind wipe, which begs for resolution. Anyway, my experience is further proof that a second viewing is often helpful before making an assessment.

The data stick Kara gave Lena was the one with Lex's secret plans, wasn't it?

Red Daughter fell from the sky with a nosebleed and needed a transfusion of Harun-el from Lex. I think everyone's Harun-el will wear off by the end of the season, and Lena will figure out how to keep James from dying without it. Otherwise, I agree that they end up with too many characters with superpowers.
That works for me. Save James and I’ll throw Eve’s cousin in that too because she’s basically an innocent party and hasn’t used her powers. That leaves Lockwood and Lex as humans with powers. Dang it I don’t want Lex to die because I want him back again at some point. I wouldn’t mind Lockwood dying. On his deathbed he can tell his son he was wrong and to be a better man than both he and his grandfather were.

No need for anyone to die from lack of Harun-el. James, the sister, and Lex all had illnesses/injuries. The Harun-el cured/healed those. Extracting the substance won’t reverse that healing, it will just take the extra benefit of Hardin-el - superpowers - away.

Red Daughter’s possible need for it (we still don’t really know if it’s a permanent need) could be because she was basically formed by the substance.

However I respectfully want Kara to keep her glasses on and her Supergirl identity from Cat. "

But Cat does know that Kara is Supergirl. Remember the scene (I believe it was in Season 2) in which Kara was talking to Cat, and then after Kara quickly left the room, Cat said "Go get 'em, Supergirl!" to herself?

I remember that scene too. But then in "Blood Bonds" Cat was certain that she knew that Kara Danvers was Supergirl only to be tricked at the end by Kara and J'onn. Maybe I'm in the minority but I think it's more entertaining for Kara to find ways to hide her secret identity from those close to her than to reveal it.

It's good to see Lena continue to have a prominent part in the episodes. I never tire of seeing Lena. She is in so much pain. Everyone she's ever got close to has lied to her and betrayed her. That is tough to get over

The Alex adoption thing is boring and feels forced, as does the Alex/Kelly thing
