The wait is finally over for a Supergirl statue previewed at SDCC 2017. Icon Heroes has just released their Supergirl TV statue, and we are excited to share our review and a giveaway! We were able to meet with the team at their booth at comic con, and they are incredibly passionate about what they create. It’s worth a stop to visit an Icon Heroes booth or their website to see what they have! The most striking feature is the pose itself- Kara in mid-flight. When placed next to other statues, the movement and the angle make it one of the more eye-catching pieces to add to our collection.
What doesn’t show too well on the box, is how intricately sculpted this statue is. Below are some images we took to truly show the amount of detail that is involved. Subtle muscle definition, depth in the face, and a cleanly painted “S” are made abundantly aware with a little dramatic lighting.
The only con is a small one, and it has to do with the packaging. The statue comes in a windowless box, and the subtle differences in individually hand painted statues can’t be compared unless the the entire box is open. This is understandable, since the most important part of the box is to protect the statue itself, but that is usually my favorite part. I love to compare and find the statue I connect most with.
For $65, you can’t go wrong by adding this to your collection. The painting is clean and carefully done, which sets it apart from more manufactured statues around the same price range. The other quality that wins me over is the pose itself. Angling her horizontally makes a huge difference in making this statue stand out.
