Will The Real Mon-El Please Stand Up

There is a classic look for Mon-El that fans have been craving since the show first let us know who was in the pod. That classic look pays a great deal of respect to the House of El while doing quite a specific twist on the color palette. During last night's episode, we finally got to see The Legion of Superheroes suit up and while they looked great, one main look was missing, the classic Mon-El red and blue. Fans were a little disappointed that this new interpretation was so dark but in a sneaky move, the CW might have more up their sleeves than we expected. A new mid-season promo revealed the iconic suit! You can see that video here. That said, check out Mon-El in his classic uniform below:

But you do hate Mon-El Why else would you have him gone. He has so much on this show. You say he has no ties. He has a huge tie to Kara he is friends with Winn. Lena has no ties either other than James and a friend to Kara. He brings in important male demo. He brings diversity.

He brings a lot to this show. Lena brings nothing other than a boring friend. Like Thalolli says she has no arc at all as a good Luthor. If this is it then she should be cut from the show.

Also Kara and Mon-El will get together again. Thats a given too. Seen countless of shows Where couples split or get torn apart for some reason and then get together again. Hell its on most shows with endgame couples. Its pretty easy to see Kara and Mon-El are an endgame couple.

I am neither a Lena fan nor a Maggie fan, and I know plenty others like this so this statement is inaccurate.

I've met plenty of people who are Lena/Maggie fans who like Mon-El. And I've met plenty of people who aren't that don't like Mon-El.

Sweeping generalizations aren't a good way to go about seeing things, because what we may see a lot of on one sm platform is only a fraction of what's really going on in the fandom as a whole.

James also has no one arc, neither has Winn. Do you want to drive all of them off the show as well? Even if that was the end of this arc, who says he couldn't have another?

Alex had an arc with Maggie, now that's over, so she's getting a new one? There's plenty of other things they could explore with Mon-El, like him having to face some of the shadows of his past as a prince. And even if he didn't, what's wrong with him just being a normal character like James or Winn or J'onn?

Except he didn't bring up Lena for that reason. He brought her up bc he assumes that I hate monel and therefore I'm a Lena fan.

Monel DOES have a new arc, his legion and their mission. But can we really push that to the show? I'm saying that his arc w/in the confines of this show is over.

The rest of the characters you listed all have ties to other characters, monel not so much. The writers never fully integrated him. At best they gave his character some scenes with Winn, but overall his scenes were always with Kara.

This is why I believe his arc here is over, because he has a new arc with his new family/friends.

Also, he's been gone 7yrs, who's to say he hasn't faced the shadows of his past already? We've missed out on a lot of his development :/

I'm fine with Mon-el staying, as long as one of two things happens. 1. they decide that they grew and learned from being together and apart, and choose to stay friends and that friendship grows. (But then what of Winn and James, are they again going to be put aside and not even be in the friend zone?) 2. They become a couple and they are written as strong "individuals" that happen to be dating. No more giggly, teenagery relationship drama (better known as Taylor Swift boyfriend drama)...they work at the DEO, and Mon-el finds a niche within the DEO just like Alex (Forensic), Winn (High-tech) and Jonn (Leader)...he spends the majority of his time doing that, not side by side with Kara fighting the baddies at every turn. Let them keep their banter here and there. AND Mon-el does all the cooking. If it is something along those lines and there is a viable reason why he isn't actually married to Imra, or a viable reason for him to stay, then cool. This all comes down to "writing", and if the writers listen to "fanon" rather than follow more "canon" or make their own SOLIDLY WRITTEN "canon"....then this could be a real mess.

Bottom line, "fanon" SHOULD NEVER RUN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, EVER!!!!!
