Wake Up Trailer

It’s been six months in Kara's world since she had to send Mon-El away and in that time she's had to deal with the uncertainty of if he was alive, dead, or any state in between. But in the time that Kara has tried to heal, we have no idea where Mon-El has been (at least as an audience, as site admin I know a great deal, j/k). Finally, we will get some answers! In this first trailer for episode 307, Mon-El returns! It‘s important to note this is the last episode before the big two-night, four-show crossover and this episode is directed by "The Faithful" actor, Chad Lowe!

Wait, this is the same episode where not only Reign visits her mother, but also where J'onn has a storyline with his father? Seems pretty crazy tat J'onn has time for anything else when a new alien ship has landed on earth.

I'm hoping that the vast majority of this episode is on building the Legion storyline, where Mon-el has been, what is going on with him now, etc. We can get a Reign reveal at the end, and honestly I would rather not have anything from Jonn's story line in this ep, so hopefully it is very little. They had a problem last year with trying to force too much into each episode. I hope they aren't falling into that again.

Isn't he supposed to be married to Saturn Girl? Ive been kind of wondering if Saturn girl doesnt do something like try and mess with his head to get him to like her. Maybe Mon El attempts to hurt Sam, and thats why he's locked in the DEO bc the DEO doesnt know yet that Sam is Reign?

That's what I mean and I can imagine Kara's reaction when she finds out he's married to Saturn Girl.

If you follow the comics from the 60's, Saturn Girl first discovers a temporary antidote for the lead poisoning; but he must return to the Phantom Zone.
Much later, Brainiac 5 figures out the missing ingredient is a small particle of Kryptonite that makes the antidote more permanent. Since this is a TV show that is loosely based on the comics, who knows if the writers will phase Mon-El in and out of the show.
And lastly, the comics have stated that Mon-El will marry Shadow-Lass from the Legion of Substitute Heroes (which haven't been introduced yet).
So who knows where this is going.

1 thing the berlanti shows do is they will mash different iterations together.

Back to the trailer. Next week's episode looks interesting to say the least. After seeing the promo stills I'm excited for the Legion! I'm curious as to how Brainiac 5 gets introduced.

I think after the crossover nonsense, the show is going to feature the legion and then many questions will be answered. I can't believe they waited six freaking episodes before bringing Monty back to the show.

So Kara stops being "our Kara" the moment she is sad about something? Or is she only allowed to be sad about a certain amount of comittee approved events?

Kara in episodes 1 didn't even come close to how rude Lena was to James, or how rude Alex was to Kara, yet people act like Kara acted like some monster?

Agreed....agreed.....agreed.

Well, I'd like to see what happens. How Kara deals with Mon El being back, why she stops trusting him, what happened to others, how can there be two Mon ELs on Earth at the same time, what is his mission and future in this season and so on.

Also, where is J'onn? I hope he doesn't spend the entire time away with his dad. I'd like to see him support Kara.

And, it is nice to see Alex, Winn and James supporting Kara.

PS: I don't think Kara has ever been an ass to anyone. Harsh, yes, but only with Alex and Alex has returned the favour; so they are even (well, Alex has still a bit of a debt but Kara shut her out for six months, so...).
Even in the worst of times, she tries to make sure an injured soldier is taken care of. That is Kara and she is still there and will always be there. Letting out and feeling pain is not a character bug. It is a character feature. I'd like to see more of it just to understand Kara better. There is so much to explore, so much that she can feel, and learn and grow and do. She is very interesting in that exploration; and if I could see that with Alex by her side, that would be icing on the cake.

I agree, I don't get where she is being an "arse" at times????? she is far harder on herself, than anyone else.

I think the stories that are the most interesting are those that take characters through things that develop their character, change them in some way, make them stronger, more aware, etc. If all we get is a reprise of Season 1 Kara, none of those things have happened. She hasn't grown at all. It would seem weird to me if a young girl who spent 24 years alone, with no one, and suddenly then crash lands on a planet she has never lived on, with a family she doesn't know, with powers she doesn't understand....BUT with an optimism to conquer all of those things. It would be strange if all she is was a happy, go lucky, goofy girl. Every single episode we have seen a glimpse of Kara's optimism. That is and always will be the central point of Kara, but to think she would go through all of those other things and have no impact from them on her relationships today is kind of naive. I just see this season as less naive. IMO, that is very interesting....

Taking from what Chris has said on Twitter, and what we are seeing in the trailer, I think Mon-el is going to be a very different character from what we saw last season. Last season he was very much a child in a new world, learning the dos and don'ts of society, a society far different from the one he grew up in....he has now lived probably YEARS....within the dimension he has been a part of, experienced things that were probably very tough, hard, and they have changed him in some ways. I'm interested in seeing those changes for sure. It looks like we are getting a glimpse of those changes in the trailer.

Ok, I think we should go back to staying on topic. I probably shouldn’t have gone so far off topic either but at this point, let’s all call it good and move on. Further comments about the trailer are welcome, otherwise let’s take it to the forum
