That Hope Street sign is the actual sign on that corner, not something added for the show. The real-world address of that building is 1200 South Hope Street, Los Angeles. For the pilot (and only the pilot), the scenes in Kara’s apartment were filmed in the studio space on the fourth floor. www.hudsonloft.com/
In the real world, it is on the corner of South Hope and West 12th streets in Los Angeles. Perhaps in the fictional world of Earth 38, it is the corner of Hope and Argo streets in National City and has an Argo Street address rather than a Hope Street address.
This is what I was going by.....
Alex was never referred to as a biomedical engineer on the TV show. There was just one reference to it the "Adventures of Supergirl" comics series that paralleled the TV series. In the comics, Alex was described as a brash, young biomedical engineer when she first started working for the DEO.
Maybe Alex didn't make it into medical school after being put on academic probation, so she decided to study biomedical engineering instead. (It is a high-paying field, with many new job openings every year.)
I was going off the deleted scene flashback when Alex read her letter from the college, they might have changed it for the actual season though.... I don't remember the Hope street part but then again it is finals week and my brain is shotttt lol
She did look pretty dead. And the comment about Little Grey was due to Alex being Kara's sister, and not being permitted to "work on" a family member's case. But, as many here have already pointed out, Alex probably knows more about Kara's guts than anyone else.
I agree with Kelly, but Alex froze for only a couple of seconds before getting Kara help.
I think they truly thought she was dead, and were in shock.
