The Gauntlet Synopsis

New synopsis day today! It is always a toss up if we get a synopsis on Wednesday,Thrusday or late on Friday. Usually in our experience, we notice that if it's late on a Friday, it's because they want to bury the story in the weekend because the synopsis has good spoilers. Looking ahead to episode 613, we think that is the case. Mxyzptlk won't be able to get rid of Nyxly as easily as we hoped because she is still around and she and Kara are going to go toe to toe for some kind of magical totem! Furthermore, we catch back up with Lena who has gotten a new power? Like Superpower? Your guess is as good as ours, read the full synopsis below:

SUPERGIRL MUST PASS THE TEST OF COURAGE – Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and team race Nyxly (Peta Sergeant) for control of a magical totem that controls courage. Supergirl and Nyxly battle and each get a piece of the totem but learn the first person to pass the test of courage will gain control of the entire thing. Meanwhile, Lena (Katie McGrath) is still struggling to make sense of her newfound gift. The episode was directed by Tawnia McKiernan with story by Dana Horgan and teleplay by Jay Faerber & Brooke Pohl (#613). Original airdate 9/28/2021.

Your disdain for Lena is laughable. Why do you hate her? Shes such an amazing character & has been from the start. Great to have her back getting more screen time. Love it!!! Its fantastic.

What I hate is bad storylines. The show should be ashamed of breaking off such a dumb storyline near the end of the show.

If bad storylines you dont like then you should add kellys ridiculous, dull and boring story as very unnecessary and joke of a guardian she is. Now thats the saddest and weakest storyline to ever come about on SG. Its become a laughing stock turning into absurdity.

What I hate is bad storylines. Lena getting magic 10 episodes before the show is over is a bad storyline. Especially when it happens by "coincidence" rather than because it it logically follows from the plot. Lena's storylines have been getting worse and worse and dumber and dumber the longer the show went on ("I want to mind control the world but it's okay because I'm doing it to be nice!!", "I'm gonna spend a year torturing my supposed bad friend, but it's okay because I'm sad!").

Maybe a science character like Lena having to cope with magic would have been a semi decent storyline in season 4, but not 10 episodes before the show is ending. Lena already has a storyline: bringing down Lex. Lena actually has a secondary storyline, fitting into the team and regaining Kara's trust. And now she gets a third storyline about learning magic 10 episodes before the show is ending? I'm sorry, that is what just what makes her a crappy overexposed character. What does she need three storylines for when other characters get bashed for having one storyline? How about they actually focused on doing the storylines she already has well rather than bringing up this ridiculous stuff?

I'm sorry, she's just a badly written and forced character at this point. The show should be ashamed of breaking off such a dumb storyline near the end of the show. This was entirely unneeded and at the very least should have been tied more organically into the main plot of the show. This is just bad writing.

True the Cape tricks are legendary. I bet if Lena thought of it then the views on it would be different from the Lena stans :-*

the good news is that Lena does learn magic that will help Kara in significant battles. the bad news is that it is that stupid cloth magic that Mon-el tried to teach her and the show desperately wanted us to think was a sign of character development.

I guess you're referring to Monty's cape and his clever manipulating of it. I don't think that was stupid magic. I remember Supergirl being very impressed on how he subdued Reign and friends.

Kara’s going to need magic on her side to defeat Nyxly. That doesn’t mean that Lena takes Nyxly down on her own perhaps just makes it a more fair fight.

We'll take whatever we can get when it comes to magic and neating Nyxly. Love having Supergirl and Lena teaming back up to beat a common enemy. Looking forward to it

This should be a good one filled with action. As for the lovely Lena, she already has the gift of being a genius scientist who has saved the day on many occasions. Any other gift would be a bonus. I hope not to see much of Kelly, Nia, Alex, Brainy and Jo'nn in this episode. Give me Supergirl, Nyxly and Lena. :P

Absolutely correct. It should be so Good! Lena is so enchanting, brilliant and charismatic. Hopefully it will only focus on her, Kara, Supergirl, Nyxly and less everyone else since she hasnt been in the last two. She should be getting more screen time, period.

I have said it before and I say it again, giving Lena magic powers that late in the game is the dumbest idea ever. We just had a scene where Nia compliments Lena on being able to make suns and now she has magic powers on top of that? .
