Superman & Lois Ordered to Series

Here's some fun and unexpected news coming from The CW today! Superman and Lois has been ordered to series! This is pretty incredible news considering that the first episode hasn't even been flimed yet! The Network must have a lot of faith in the project to order it to series before even seeing a pilot episode! With Arrows final episode nearing, The Arrowverse will continue at the very least with 6 shows in the 2020 - 2021 season! There is still an opportunity that Green Arrow and The Canaries will bring the total up to 7! Here's the basic description on Superman and Lois:

The world’s most famous superhero and comic books’ most famous journalist” as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society. Based on the characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the pilot will be written and executive-produced by Todd Helbing (The Flash), Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns will also serve as EPs on the project from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Sounds kind of like Superman meets The Incredibles. They should call it "The Supers". :-)

While this is good news...anyone here get the feeling this is counting the chickens before they are hatched?

Not really. The network works pretty closely with the EPs well in advance of making these announcements. They all know what they ordered, even without a pilot to look at.. Displays good faith, based on a stellar track record of prior accomplishment.

Just asking of course.

Maybe a bit, but they aren't exactly starting from scratch like Batwoman or Stargirl either. They know how the leads work together and how the audience has responded to them.

Shows a good deal of faith. I hope it's rewarded.

Regardless, I'll certainly give it a shot.
