It was a big night for the Girl of Steel, Melissa Benoist! The actor walked away with a Teen Choice Award in the major category of "Choice Action TV Actress"! Somewhat perfectly, Benoist was surprised with the award by network co-star, Grant Gustin (The CW's Flash). Grant was also a big winner of the night and walked away with "Choice Action TV Actor". Congratulations to the CW's dynamic duo! In her acceptance speech to the audience and viewers at home, Melissa said:

You guys, thank you so much, this is my first Teen Choice Award. I'm so glad I get to put on a cape and fight like a girl everyday! And I hope that every girl in this room knows that you are as strong as you think you can be! Thank you guys so much!

Congrats to Melissa! I know these awards aren't exactly 'prestigious' but it's nice to see her getting some well deserved recognition. She does a fantastic job as Supergirl/Kara. Here's to her getting more awards in the future!!

Congrats to Melissa (and Grant) on a very well-deserved win! For me, she's the best actress in the DCTV universe, bar none. Her portrayal of essentially 3 different characters (Kara Danvers/ Kara Zor-El/ Supergirl) and nailing all the nuances of each persona is nothing short of amazing. She is really such a pleasure to watch.

Although she didn't win the other 2 categories she was nominated for, just the fact that they were given recognition (as well as the individual nominations for Chris Wood and Teri Hatcher) is good publicity/exposure for the show. I'm quite certain that there will be many more future accolades for our Girl of Steel.

Congratulations to Melissa for a very very very well deserved award. An award for Melissa is an award for the show and all the actresses and actors that help to make SuperGirl the great show that it is. Melissa is a superb hardworking actress and brings me to the show every monday - I am so happy for her win. Also congratulations to Grant Gustin - I only wish the Flash and SuperGirl were on the same earth - IMO they would make such a great couple.

To be fair I would not call her the best actor on the CW. On Supergirl maybe, tied with other people. There's a lot of shows on the CW and many great actors. Grant Gustin for example is a legend. I think Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are also probably up there.

Melissa is still a legend though. I would think she is tied for ONE OF THE BEST on the CW.
