Well it's been a little while since we've wrapped the fifth season finale of Supergirl. Covering a season is a lot of work and we tend to take a little break after a season wraps. No rest for the wicked though as we are covering Stargirl as it happens! What a fun show that's been! Today we wanted to bring you a few minor news stories regarding our Girl of Steel. First is that Blu Ray and DVD sales of Supergirl season 5 will be out September 8th this year. Secondly, if you're following our sister site Batwoman.tv you've likely heard that not only did Ruby Rose quit Batwoman, they aren't even recasting her role. Not sure what this means for Supergirl but since Kate and Kara had such a close relationship, we are curious if there will be repercussions felt on Supergirl with this news.

Usually they have more than one poster for the season. However, I am tired of all the hype around Nia - I don't look at the show for Nia or Brainy for that matter. I look at the show for SuperGirl/Alex/David/Lena. They are the ones that should be focused on in a poster. If they want to focus on Nia then give her, her own show where she can be focused on.
I'm waiting on ordering DC Legends Of Tomorrow Season 5 which comes out on 9/22 so I can order it with Stargirl Season 1 which comes out on blu ray on 9/29 but isn't up for pre-order yet where I get these(Best Buy). What I ordered today comes out in late August and early September. The last two are late September.
I ordered Pennyworth Season 1 at the beginning of June from Amazon. It was released this past Tuesday but my copy still says,"Not yet shipped We will email you when we have an estimated delivery date."Hopfully it comes soon.
Not entirely surprising. The TV arm of WB home video has a history of playing it cheap.
Not sure how well known it is on here, but the Supergirl disc releases (DVD and Blu-ray) up to this point suffer from low bitrates. The Blu-rays have some of the lowest bitrates I know of for a typical Blu-ray release. That is they are overly compressed. Don't get me wrong the image will still look good for a digitally recorded show but you got to wonder if it could have looked better.
In fact I would say it would as I have the Crisis on Earth X and Supergirl season 3 DVD. If you compare the episodes from both discs, the Earth X version is slightly sharper as unusually they did not compress the episode anywhere as much.

This is a Comic Con like online event.
Quote: It looks like Supergirl will be a part of it.
To say the least, Rom.
Sorry to hear about the news that the role of Batwoman will not be recasted. The only repercussion I can see that having on SuperGirl is that the two will not appear in a crossover together. There is always the Flash and Superman that SuperGirl can appear in a crossover with. Other than that, I don't see BatWoman's demise as having an effect on Supergirl except for maybe her viewing time being changed to hopefully an 8:00 PM viewing time. I will say that I thought SuperGirl and Batwoman had great camaraderie between them - I will miss that and the opportunities it could have presented.

Just read TV line article. So there will still be a Batwoman just not by the name of Kate Kane. She will be a whole new personality that will now become Batwoman. So now I really don't think this will have any impact on SuperGirl or her airing time. Hopefully the camaraderie between the new Batwoman and SuperGirl will be a good one so that we may have opportunities for the two to appear together. From the description of the new type being chosen for the part of Batwoman - SuperGirl will be the calmer, steady thinking character while the new Batwoman will be kind of wild in her thinking and acting . Should be interesting. Here is the article in case you did not see it.

I bought Doom Patrol S1 on Bluray sight unseen and didn't regret it in the slightest.
I am a fan of the Swamp Thing character, but I'll wait until it airs on CW before sinking money into a cancelled series.
The diverse concepts and tones of the DC offerings mean there are a lot of options. It really is a golden age for comic book adaptations.
I actually get all the live action DC shows. My copy of the HBO Watchman Limited Series came in yesterday and at the end of this month Pennyworth Season 1 comes out on Blu Ray MOD from Warner Archives.
I just finished watching my Swamp Thing Blu Ray set tonight right before getting on here.lol
I've basically been watching my DC Universe Blu Rays sets recently(Titans Season 1,Doom Patrol Season 1,Swamp Thing).I'm planning to re-watch Krypton Season 2(SyFy series) via my Blu Ray and than Titans Season 2.
And of course I'm watching Stargirl as it airs via The CW.Since I don't have DC Universe,I rely on the blu ray releases for the other shows.I do have HBO MAX which means I'll be able to watch Doom Patrol Season 2 when it begins airing at the end of the month.
