The musical crossover is going to be an incredible and fun time for both the cast and crew as well as the audience! We learned a while ago that there would be at least one specially written song for the musical and today we know what that is via Buzzfeed. Its called "Superfriends" and will be performed by Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin! Further more, the song was written by network co-star Rachel Bloom from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Here's what she had to say:
As soon as I heard that they were doing a musical crossover, I e-mailed Mark Pedowitz who connected me to Greg and Andrew. I immediately offered them my services. Once they picked one of my song ideas, I hopped on the phone with my old Robot Chicken boss Tom Root and we brainstormed and, based on that brainstorm, I wrote up the song ‘Superfriends.’ I am so excited to contribute more to the upward trend that is musicals in television and film. Music can be one of the most amazing and efficient forms of storytelling and character development. Also, it was really fun to write a comedy song for two superheroes.
Additionally, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the award-winning songwriting team behind La La Land‘s City of Stars, have written the original song “Runnin’ Home to You,” to be performed by Gustin.
The Musical starts on Supergirl and is episode 216 which airs March 20th. The second portion is on The Flash episode 317 and takes place March 21st. For more on who is signing check out this article!

Maybe that's the goal...maybe
hahaha.....I don't know, seeing them do that as Supergirl and Flash......kinda weird. :/
Yeah, I'm going to be a little ticked if she doesn't get an original solo, unless her solo is a very good song.... :)
I assume Melissa and Grant will perform this as Supergirl and The Flash and not Kara and Barry. At least that's what I hope anyway.
I'm betting it will be a singing, dancing Duet and wait for it, with TAP DANCING. :)
I remember them both saying they loved tap dancing numbers when they were Glee Babies. Then when Melissa was asked in an recent interview about the possibility of it, she kinda laughed, but really didn't answer the question. Hmmm.
Quote: Well then again Melissa and Grant are both silly people so this makes sense with Melissa being IMHO the sillier of the two.
Quote: Rom, the way TV shows are filmed they can be done...ahem...faster than a speeding bullet! I had to say it!
One other things Rachel said...
Quote: Well there has been lots of recent TV success like with Grease (where Melissa and Jenna Dewan Tatum visited the set when they were in Hollywood), Hairspray, The Sound of Music and also La La Land for the movies. But this will never outdo the musical movies of the golden age of cinema like anything MGM did. Also on TV this was done before. Mary Martin in 1969 played Peter Pan on NBC. It was shown again in 1989.
