Musical Crossover Details

Glee fans are going to get an extra dose of Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin signing in a two part crossover event! We have known for a while now that the second Supergirl/Flash crossover would be a musical this season but more details are emerging from TVLine.com. The two night event will take place March 20th and 21st both on Supergirl and The Flash. Much like the Heroes vs Aliens crossover, the majority of the signing and crossover action will happen on the second night via The Flash. As for who is singing, there are some incredible talents confirmed so far, but more may be on the way!

  1. Melissa Benoist (Obviously) | Supergirl
  2. Grant Gustin (Also Obviously) | Flash
  3. Jesse L. Martin | Joe West
  4. Victor Garber | Dr. Stein
  5. Carlos Valdes | Cisco Ramon
  6. Jeremy Jordan (WE CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ONE) | Winn Schott
  7. John Barrowman | Malcolm Merlyn

That is an incredible line up, but already we are curious about the story. What event could bring a Legend, a Legionnaire of Doom, and Winn Schott together? Does Winn get to go to Earth One? David Harewood and Chris Wood (Martian Manhunter and Mon-El respectively) are also going to appear in the crossover but not sing. Does this mean Supergirl is bringing her crew to Earth One? What will Cisco think of J'onn? WOW we are so excited! The episode is appropriately titled, Duets.

This calls for speculation hats for sure! Let us know what you think is going to happen in the comments below and in the forum! Also, visit the support page and keep Supergirl.tv your advertisement free source for Supergirl News!

So basically, a FLASH musical episode!

I am actually pissed the SG Crossover ep is again not really a crossover. But happy to see more of SG cast going to Flash

But please man next time there is a crossover make the SG ep a REAL crossover!!

I had the same thought. I'm starting to see a trend that these "crossover" episodes have barely anything to do with the SG episode and all the fun is on The Flash episode. I realize The Flash is on the night after SG so logistically it makes more sense. But hopefully eventually (next season) we'll get a crossover episode that actually crosses over on SG.

Me too. You'd think after all the angry fans from the recent crossover would give them a clue but instead, they do it again right after. Being on Monday has nothing to do with it, they can start the crossover at the BEGINNING of SG, especially as they started months ago announcing that it would be a 2 part crossover. Uggggh. You can bet the Flash fans won't be tuning into Supergirl, so really this will bump Flash ratings, and like the last time, do very little to help SG ratings.

My sometimes wrong sources report that Legends of Tomorrow is moving to a time slot immediately after Flash, so even if Supergirl is not there you can immediately see the people with whom she would have crossed over.

No Chyler Leigh, pretty disappointed about that.

Well, Chyler has responded on Twitter that she's got a duet with her hubby and his band East Of Eli scheduled for release on Valentine's Day, so that's sort of a consolation. :) https://twitter.com/chy_leigh/status/822559239596081153

Chyler is a good person and kept it classy.

I am not going to give up on Cryler singing. This list contains the most accomplished singers on the CW DCTV shows. Melissa and Grant were of course on “glee” and if their two stars weren’t exceptional singers the EPs wouldn’t have considered a musical crossover.

Jesse L Martin stared in “rent” on Broadway and the West End.

Victor Garber is a Broadway actor with three Tony nominations.

Carlos Valdes has a musical theater background and has been on Broadway.

Jeremy Jordan as most of us know is a Broadway star and Tony nominee.

John Barrowman has an extensive theater career in the UK and has albums that reached the UK top 20.

This list is the show stoppers, the people without whom the musical crossover wouldn’t be possible. I think Cryler and Danielle Panabaker (who sang well with Grant on Flash) will get to sing, if only because they need more female voices. I wouldn’t put it past the producers to release more singers later if only to give people like us something to talk/complain about. As for how much crossover action happens on Supergirl I think the episode title will tell us lots. If the titles are the same like the three Invasions that's a good sign.

This is going to be FUN. Looking forward to all the singing performances but particularly interested in Jesse L Martin (enjoyed his singing performance in The Flash Earth-2 Episode last season) and Jeremy Jordan who can belt out a good tune from what I've seen of him on YouTube.

On second look, the article says both Duet and Duets. Not sure which is correct.

This DC Comics article (http://www.dccomics.com/blog/2017/01/20/breaking-news-the-flash-musical-episode-gets-an-airdate?sf52026537=1) mentions The Flash episode as 'Duet'.

Also of interest is the Supergirl episode is numbered 216 which must mean only a 1 week break upcoming as they could theoretically run through to Episode 15 on March 6.

Just for the crossover it's a wonderful news, but Winn and Cisco meeting at last it's Awesome :P

If that's the case, it makes up for Chyler not making it. And also, two words...GEEKS RULE!!!!!!!
