Suit Up CW Teaser

If there was one thing we learned from Crisis on Earth-X from the trinity of heroes (Green Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl), it's that "super speed, [Green Arrow] doesn't have it". Of course, while that moment stood out as a pretty hilarious one, it seems the CW has doubled down on the joke in their new promo for the second half of their "Super Season". Check out this teaser for the return of the Arrowverse including our Girl of Steel with all the other main-heroes from the other shows as well:

It's funny how we don't see Barry actually in his Flash costume. We only get to see his lightning.

There is a great video on this very site about the costume:

I hope some day the costumes would go on a European Tour.

In real life, Hygiene - I assume Melissa does not want to be wearing the same item of clothing for six months without it being washed.

The Supergirl wardrobe department has several copies of the Super-costume at their disposal for Melissa to wear. However, one of them will be on display during MLK weekend for the "DC in DC" event in Washington DC. Seems pretty unlikely that there will be any redesign of the suit, for marketing reasons....and also because Oscar winner Colleen Atwood designed this one.

I have to admit when I first saw the suit three years ago in the first publicity photo, I too was uncertain about the red lines. I thought it looked like a sports top. That photo was dark, so when I saw the pilot and brighter photos I immediately realised I love the suit red lines and all. The only thing I don't like about the suit only occurred on one occasion, how the cape hangs off Kara's shoulders at the end of the pilot.

The only thing I don't like about the current suit are the red lines. They look fine on the torso, but having the red stitching on the seems of the shoulders has always bothered me. I don't always notice it, but when I do, it's a downer.

I actually like that feature. It makes the suit seem more "realistic" (according to the show's storyline) - as if Winn really did stich it together on his own sewing machine :-)

I wish that this trailer had Kara’s new costume because we know that her suit was beat and torn up almost as much as she was during the battle and there is no repairing that suit. I can’t wait to see what the new one will look like!

Not to rain on your parade (or "Reign" on your parade, lol), but I'm not super confident that they will update her suit. It'd be cool if they did, but I doubt it. Supergirl's suit was damaged multiple times in the season 1 finale, and was perfectly fine in the VERY NEXT SCENES, lol. It may be reasonable to assume that, aside from the cape (which is supposedly Kryptonian material), Winn made her multiple copies of the suit.
I actually watched the preview after 3x09 quite a few times trying to make out whether the suit that Kara had on in that water chamber was the same or not for this very reason :D You can tell that she has a suit with a cape on but, other than that, there isn't much to give anything away. I'm torn because I would like to see a different suit but, I also like her current suit and Melissa seems to like it, too. I'd be okay either way I guess.

Don't forget the multiple variations of the suit:

In real life, filming - with holes in various points to allow for the flying harness connections and without holes to allow for close up shots. Plus multiple variations of expensive boots with and without lifts etc. depending on what is needed for the scene and multiple full capes as well as only the shoulder part of the cape when the rest is CGI to get good cape flowing shots while flying.

In real life, Hygiene - I assume Melissa does not want to be wearing the same item of clothing for six months without it being washed.

In Fiction, Hygiene - Although it's been well established that it takes a lot more effort than humans before Kryptonians even break a sweat, I assume Kara would need multiple copies of the suit while some would need to be washed due to battle dirt. Remember when she reeked of oil in "Stronger Together". I assume Kara would want a clean suit when wearing under clean regular clothing.

Quoting Kelly:

they do have multiple Supergirl suits that they use and I do not see them spending the money to make a whole new group of those suits for Melissa to wear.

The stunt doubles also have at least one suit. . . Those custom made boots alone are probably more than $1000.

What does one have to do with the other?

As someone stated that the mystery waitress could be XS, granddaughter of Flash and Iris West and member of the Legion of Superheroes. They could have split up trying to go back in time to avert a possible Crisis.
