Season 5 Start Date Announced

Supergirl is set to begin filming at the end of this month! Earlier than any other Arrowverse show this year! We are expecting a great new trailer for the show at San Diego Comic Con 2019. With that said, the release dates for the start of season 5 have been revealed and we are excited to shave a week off of our countdown clock! Supergirl will begin season five following the debut of Batwoman on October 6th at 9pm! With, what we believe to be a 22 episode order, this looks like another banner year for the show!

I wonder if the Supergirl crew are starting early so that Melissa doesn't do Broadway or other projects that would interfere with Supergirl like last year.

Melissa is the one who asked for this, they are getting an additional week during the holidays starting a week earlier than normal. Most are speculating a wedding might occur during this holiday break

Very nice to know. Hopefully it's a 22 episode season, but if it winds up being 20, that's fine as well! ;-)

Very nice. It's possible we might start with a 10 episode run ( October 6 thru December 8 ) if like Season 4 there are no breaks. Estimated Episode 13 a.k.a 100 screening date - February 16 or March 1 2020.

I don't see them making a decision like that just to keep Melissa from doing other projects. That would be pretty crappy.

It's a total win-win strategy for the net. Batwoman will obviously be hyped up to the max, which hopefully will attract many new eyeballs. And Supergirl had the highest ad viewability score during the month of May, which actually adds more value for potential advertisers coming into the latter series' fifth season.

With Sunday's established it's only fitting the season kicks off with the World's Finest. One week earlier than expected is a bonus. Admin please let us know when you're confidant on that episode count.

Not good. Why in the hell would they start with their new Sunday Line up first. Just stupid now they cant even promote the premiere of that new Night in prime time season. Its all OFF season now for the promotion. What the hell were they thinking. They should have started with Mondays not sundays. It should started airing 13th Oct so they would be able to promote it monday through friday. Starting their season with that new Night is just stupid and dangerous. Ugh CW!

I'm thinking there's definitely not going to be a promotion problem for Supergirl airing that night-- airing after Batwoman's "already millions of dollars spent" premeir hype.

So stoked for the cast's return sooner!!
