The CW has released their Fall schedule for the 2018-2019 season. As many already knew, The CW decided to extend their original programing to include Sundays. Today we are learning that to spearhead that new night of TV, Supergirl herself will do the heavy lifting! The Girl of Steel has been tapped to take on the new 8:00pm slot! This is a big leap on The CW's part. It shows that the network continues to have faith in the show and the fact that they've selected Supergirl to take on this new night as well as be the feeder show for their new reboot series, "Charmed", only cements in our minds that Supergirl will be around for a while! Superhero fans will delight as well knowning now that Supergirl is Sunday followed by Legends at 8:00pm and Arrow at 9:00pm on Monday and The Flash at 8:00pm and Black Lightning at 9:00pm Tuesday. A perfect three day block of Superhero tv for the masses!

I watch Supergirl, Madame Secretary, Criminal Minds, Chicago Fire, Amazing Race and Survivor all semi-live. Everything else gets binged in the Summer.
She would be a great Lana Lang...
First of all how is AFM still even watched by anyone. I can get all those and better funny home video clips on Youtube minus the commercial and corny not funny host. Seriously, I'm lost as to how it gets any viewers.
I would think Football and Simpsons more or less are not the main viewing demographic of Supergirl or Charmed so I don't think they should be a big deal.
Im somewhat optimistic this might increase Supergirl's viewer numbers.
I hope they don't start filming S4 till Melissa's back from Broadway, an early July start like S3 may mean she wouldn't be in the 1st couple of episodes and I definitely don't want that.
I remember they started filming S2 E1 (which screened October 10) about July 25 so a August 6 start for S4 could mean the episode would be ready for screening on October 14.
So New Zealand isn't signifyingly delayed from the final US viewing. I believe Eire-El said Ireland is a week behind the US.
The start of the TV week depends on the Network, CW wants to heavily promote Sundays so I wouldn't be surprised if Supergirl started the networks season. Melissa's on Broadway until August 4th so filming will start about a month later than last year. I'd tentatively say October 14th or even the 21st to give more time for filming. I don’t think CW will want to delay starting the new Sunday schedule past the 21st but at the same time Supergirl’s gonna be way behind in filming, compared to other shows, and it’s the show that takes the longest. A positive thing about the hiatus is hopefully a shorter summer break.
Very nice of you Brierrose to think of us International members. Currently here in New Zealand the show becomes available on a Tuesday @ 6pm (just a couple of hours after it's finished screening on the U.S. West Coast). This move to Sunday in the U.S. will mean it will be available Monday @ 6pm for viewing so that's a nice way to start the week with an episode of Supergirl.
I have a question, in the U.S. is Sunday the start of the TV viewing week or the end?, is Season 4 likely to premiere Sunday October 7 or Sunday October 14? (based on when The CW normally start their seasons).
She is one special talented young lady but her plate is full. She has to be a little nervous performing on Broadway which I will be attending on June 13th. Very excited.
Bah ha ha ha ha ha same--whether it was because it looked cool, was heartfelt, funny, or someone did an awesome facial express
