Season 4 Premiere Title Revealed

The Supergirl.tv office is a mess right now! We've got equipment laying all over, bags half packed and loads of questions for cast and crew strewn about the place. Don't get us wrong, we don't normally look like this, it's because COMIC CON IS THREE DAYS AWAY (at least for our travel purposes). The windfall of Supergirl news is right around the corner but despite our dizzying appearance, the news must go on!

Today we have the title for the premiere episode of season four! The title is "The American Alien". For us, the title seems in line with the show's multipurpose naming structure. This likely will have statements on immigration and or refugees but also invites the comparison for a future episode likely titled "The Russian Alien" to contrast the dual Kara Zor-Els we have from season three's end. Of course, we need to disclaim these hypotheses as fact because for now, it's just our intuition motivating us. That said, "The American Alien" debuts October 14, 2018 in Supergirl's new time-slot, Sunday 8pm.

American Alien is the recent Superman comic series written by Max Landis and it's about Superman's younger years before becoming Superman.

The American Alien is perhaps the young lady, speaks American English, detained "how would you like some potstickers" by the patriotic Russians at the mystery location in Siberia. In Russia, she is an alien.

Oh snap! Tell your sister she’s a genius. Yes please let’s have Lynda Carter back, she was at Melissa’s Broadway debut. Could be some friction between the President and the Danvers sisters, who have both disobeyed her orders. They don’t have J’onn to take the blame for going against Presidential orders anymore.

It's unlikely that Kara will be fighting her "clone" in the season premiere. I wouldn't look for that until 4x09, much like when Supergirl fought Reign the first time.

I’m not sure Kara will ever totally stop feeling like an out of place alien. The goal, which I think she achieved it to feel comfortable in her own skin and with the choices she makes. For the first time since she was rocketed off in that pod she had a choice and that makes all the difference. I do hope the transmatterportal on Argo gets fixed so she can visit Alura, say on a Kryptonian holiday. At the very least Alura should be able to do what Kara did with the crystals so mother and daughter can actually talk.

Sounds interesting. Hope it's a good episode. I guess I'll have to tune in when October rolls around. ;-)
