I've said that the third season may be dark for the show. I look forward to see what Bloodsport can do.

Quoting superbill:
Yes, I'm with all those who have commented that SG should remain lighthearted at its heart. A couple of darker episodes is OK, but there is already too much darkness in the real world without adding to it in our entertainment. She is a character of hope and inspiration and must remain so. Besides, persistent darkness is BORING!

I wholeheartedly agree!
Throwing in some drama and angst is all well and good but I think it should be kept to a minimum. The way they dipped their toe in the Red!K Kara arc is how they should approach this 'Kara Danvers was a mistake' arc. A couple of episodes should be more than enough to explore this version of Kara without overdoing the darker element being introduced. But I'll guess we'll just have to wait and see how things work out.

I don't mind the more darker instances, the light isn't near as bright without a little darkness and drama. Lighthearted even 75% of the time can get boring. Give the hero some angst....

I think SuperGirl will only be dark for like the first 2 episodes - that would only be reasonable for what she has gone through. Then I think she will go back to being lighthearted; however, I think this year we are in for a more serious minded, Superhero focused SuperGirl. The question becomes, can you have a more serious minded SuperGirl without her becoming dark - I think you can, but we'll see come October.

I still love the Supergirl "National City is my town" line, I wonder if it's before or after she lays the Smackdown on Bloodsport, though I am just guessing as to where it might be said.

Quoting RobertAnthony:
The logo at the end...spot on for the supposed tone of the season, which sadly will be in the brooding range ala Arrow.

We have to hope Robert that's not the tone of the whole season and dark Kara only lasts a couple of episodes at most. I like the happy, optimistic and hopeful Kara.

A common criticism of The Flash S3 was they went too dark for what should be a more light-hearted character. Supergirl should definitely be light. Leave the darkness for Arrow.

Quoting Fedguy:
Speaking about the brooding range of Arrow, I don't want every show to turn into Arrow, especially not this one. I'm very sad they made The Flash dark.

yeah i agree with you..dont make every hero on cw becoming dark like Arrow, fyi im gonna leave the Arrow show this season, because its getting boring and the team its very boring too..

im hope SG is still the funny and shinning hero show :)
can't wait for Oct 9th.

I know what would make it fail: a bogus Contractor :D Good for you on your sixth year :-)

I still think the scene you're talking about could be just be part of a promo, but we'll find out if it's actually a scene in S3. With less than a month to go, the anticipation is steadily ramping up, thanks to the start of promo season!

Quoting DraftingDrafter:

That makes so much sense! That'd be a pretty solid structure so I wonder how (if?) it falls. (I'm only 6 years in to my architectural career)

The only scene I can think of from the trailers that shows Kara smiling is the one where they're all at the bar and they're clinking their glasses together..I think that's the only scene we've gotten so far with any sort of smile on her face.

Quoting Triggy:
A rebar is too thin, it would take a thick solid steel post buried deep into the ground on a concrete footing, the rod would be bent into a cantilever beam with a frame (a lamp post is a good example for this). The sculpture would wrap around that beam. (I abandoned my architectural profession 15 years ago to move to Canada for a good and steady warehouse job - go figure LOL and thanks for the mental exercise).

Anyway, back to the real subject - Supergirl's hair seems to be more blondy this season. Also to date I haven't seen Kara/Supergirl smile in any of the trailers. Not that I'm not happy with it, but it could set the tone early this season. I'd like to see her with real negative emotions for once so I think I'll get that this time around.

Quoting evrafter:

Or is it possible to run long rebar through the middle and deep into the ground and build a frame around that?
