Just a little over a week to go and then Supergirl fans will be on a non-stop train ride with all new episodes for ten weeks! While we mention it a lot, the second hiatus was rough. The only bright side of it comes from that previous statement, ten weeks of new episodes back to back! Of course, now that we are so close to new episodes returning, we are getting more and more looks at what's to come. Today, we have a synopsis of episode 315 "In Search of Lost Time". Check it out below:
J’ONN HAS TO FACE THE TRUTH ABOUT HIS FATHER - When M’yrnn (guest star Carl Lumbly) inadvertently causes psychic disturbances at the DEO, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) must work with J’onn (David Harewood) to contain the resulting chaos. Meanwhile, Mon-El (Chris Wood) begins training Kara in fighting techniques he’s learned in the future for battling Worldkillers. Andi Armaganian directed this episode with story by Eric Carrasco and teleplay by Katie Rose Rogers & Nicki Holcomb (#315).

I agree Sully. Since the World Killers were created by the Kryptonians, I would think that a Kryptonian would be best to eradicate them from the earth. Knowledge and power are two different things and SuperGirl, in my opinion, did not lack the power to defeat Reign as much as she lacks the knowledge on how to defeat the World Killers. Seems more to me like this would have been a good job for Brainiac. Should be very interesting to see how this plays out.
Plus there is always that time quandary that if the world killers still exist in the future and are still wreaking havoc and you send MonEl back to the past to help eradicate the World Killers then you won't have a future with the world killers - you then would not have a need to send MonEl back to the past to help fight them... Which if you didn't then how did they get eradicated in the first instance?
Why must they insist on someone training Kara at this point in her career? She has proven more than capable in the past and there isn't anyone on the show right now who has been shown to have more skill than she has. Especially not someone who was incapable of holding his own against a World Killer for more than a minute. The only thing she needs is knowledge on their weakness - not physical training. Unfortunately, this kind of puts the excitement for the show's return down a notch for me.
True. My concern is why is he only now just sharing his valuable skills/experience in fighting world killers? Why wait this long? There has to be a reason, if not then the Legion/Mon-El let Reign practically kill Kara. Were they trying to avoid sharing these techniques? Maybe to prevent changing the past? Idk but I'm very curious.
People tend to forget he spent 7 years in the future, that would have been more then enough time for him to have picked up new skills/experience.
I agree Robert they are also my favorite new characters this season. I'm hoping that with him being new to earth he just has to learn how to control his powers.
I won't lie, I'm not crazy about MonEl teaching SuperGirl anything. Especially since her powers are superior to his. However, I will wait and see the episode which may end up being better than I think. As for MonEl not using his new profound fighting abilities before - I remember at the end of the last episode he was being told his real reason for being there. Maybe in the future they wiped away his memory of his assignment until the time presented itself (i.e. after more than one of the world killers were exposed).
He along with Reign and Psi (Yael Grobglas)have been my favorite new characters this season.
Perhaps he didn't want to reveal too much too soon.
