As we continue to march toward the holiday break, just after the four part crossover, the Supergirl cast and crew are still working steadily toward filming episodes that will air in the second act of season 3. Because of that, we continue to learn more about what to expect after episode 309, titled "Reign". The latest is that we have learned the title of episode 312. That is "For Good". Because there isn't much more information beyond that, its hard to speculate but our initial thoughts are that this episode would revolve around actions that might not be the best for Sam, but will be for the good of everyone.

Well for an instance of how they could have that happen is like on last nights arrow. Slade came back, he's more anti hero..but I found that even though we were reminded constantly of how he had done terrible things, I pulled for him constantly through the whole episode. And is more like a 'frenemy' to Oliver now. Robards shown up every season on the Flash at least once, spent a season being the main villain on both the Flash AND Legends. Also how Darkh basically now is on his THIRD season as a lead bad guy.
Also Malcolm being a recurring character throughout arrow and actually helping out Oliver from time to time. We're being shown that for Slade too...lets see if Sam can be worthy of this treatment.
No doubt Sam/Reign, and Mon-el/Valor will be around in some capacity for the entire season, my post was not to say otherwise. It was simply to state that Mon-el/Valor should not be the central focus. We had that last season and we do not need another season of that for sure. And even once Sam becomes Reign there will, I'm sure be several episodes even after becoming full on Reign that we will see her revert back to Sam....that could continue for seasons to come. I just do not want her to be fully redeemed.....ever. She is a Supergirl villain and needs to be that for seasons to come.
My best guess is that Sam fights with the Reign persona for a large part of the episodes. And for anyone to believe that Sam can be saved as we keep getting quotes about...we're going to have to see physical evidence of that internal fight in her. Like she can be reached occasionally, and there's people like Ruby she won't hurt, etc. Thats what I think.
I think is is beyond unlikely. If Reign was supposed to be gone by the middle of the season then they wouldn't have given her a full cast member contract, they could have given her the same contract that all other villains so far had, like Lillian Luthor or Rhea. I think they've also said that Sam and Reign was their attempt at fixing the criticism of season 2 where the big bad (Rhea) wasn't part of the show from the start.
I also think they have invested too much in making the Sam part of Reign's personality particularly in regards to her daughter for just "Sam" to be gone for the remaining what, 10-12 episodes? Reign at this point seems to be more a physical and fight oriented villain, not a manipulator, so what exactly would she do all those episodes till the finale?
There was an article that said that the Legion of Superheroes would play a huge part in season 3 at least. And since Mon-El is part of the Legion I assume this also means him.
The title is vague, it might turn out differently as we might think.
ditto what Kelly said.
Why would he be front and center? The show is called Supergirl. And good grief, the show is not in any danger of getting cancelled....that is ridiculous.
