Many have been wondering where has James Olsen gone this season? He makes a few appearances at Guardian here and there but fans are missing him a lot more in the second half of season 2. Well Episode 220 looks to remedy that situation and TVLine.com has gotten the info. The twentieth episode of the second season is reported to be a James centered episode. Its titled, "City of Lost Children" and will feature Lonnie Chavis as Marcus, a young alien boy who bonds with James after the rugrat’s mother attacks National City. TVline talked with David Harewood about the episode and an upcoming scene with Mehcad Brooks:
There’s a lovely moment that I have with Mehcad, about accepting who you are. James is reluctant to step in and help somebody, and I persuade him, as a hero, that sometimes you have to go against your own instincts and do something that’s right, as opposed to what you think might be right.
David went on to say that as Director of the DEO, he might find Guardian's talents useful:
I really want to see James in the DEO. Winn has been a real find in the DEO, so maybe one day we can get James in there, as well.
New episodes return next week and will be uninterrupted through the finale!

My problem with Guardian was there was absolutely no evolution shown, nothing like what we have gotten with Mon-el, not even close. James, it seems only motivation was, bank robbers ran over the camera his dad gave to him and he has a black belt. That was ALL that we got in the beginning, then finally when we actually are about to get some heartfelt "this is why I am Guardian" he ends up looking like a jealous guy that got ditched. Had he said "like you and Clark" I would have had absolutely no problem with his argument with Kara as to his motives. But he didn't, he said Mon-El and right there my feelings went right back to.....he's just jealous. No evolution or reasoning for Guardian, that is my problem with the character.
I hope you are right because then there is hope that people will get rid of that last bit of prejudice where Guardian is concerned and also give him a chance to stay a part of Team SuperGirl.
You nailed it Eire El we are seeing things through Kara's eyes rather than as a neutral observer much more this season. The producers and writers are trying to make us feel the same way Kara does. This is especially true with Mon-El and Guardian. Think back to when it was announced James would become Guardian, at the same time we were told that it would be kept from Kara and that she wouldn't like it. This predisposed us to dislike Guardian because right or wrong our heroine would be against it. With Mon-El being a Daxamite, in the beginning we were being lead to see him through Kara's prejudice eyes. Once Kara started to see Mon-El as an individual who happens to be a Daxamite she started to fall for him, we the audience started to like him. We felt Kara's pain when when Mon-El was revealed to be the embodiment of every negative thing she was taught about Daxamites. "Duet" finally helped Kara let go of her last bit of Daxamite prejudice.
let me give you a reason to root for him. for the first time in any comic book show, movie, or animated feature we are witnessing a female superhero mentor a male superhero. I for 1 dont want to see her get help from superman or anyone else on this as she's got it.
I agree with Eire El. Mon-El was obnoxious at the start because of his heritage of the Daxam culture. His story over the course of the season is his development from that person into the emerging hero he is now.
