Schott Through The Heart Trailer

FINALLY! Some new footage from a new episode of Supergirl! It's still four weeks away, but these brief 20 seconds in this trailer are like an oasis in the desert! As we know, episode 314 is going to be about Winn and his mom. Titled, "Schott Through The Heart", Winn's mom makes her first appearance in National City. Played by the incredible Laurie Metcalf, Winn's mom's appearance coincides with a dangerous time for the citizens of the city. Who could be sending killer toys back into the city? Who is planning on sealing Supergirl in their own life-size action figure packaging? Could the Toyman be back or did Winn's mom also take up her estranged husband's deadly obsession! Check out the trailer below!

So happy that we're getting more Winn! But it does seem odd to drop this in the middle of the worldkiller arc. I wonder if it'll tie into that at all.

There's still going to be some Worldkiller stuff in this episode. Mon-El has to tell Kara something important about them.

BTW, the new, one minute teaser makes the upcoming episode seem even creepier, as if the show is competing with those trailers for "A Quiet Place", which comes out this weekend.

While I am very excited to see new Supergirl content and a Winn centered episode, it's a little disorienting to be in the middle of a World Killer threat and come back from such a long hiatus with an episode that doesn't seem to be focused around that threat.
I thought this too Sully but then thought about likely timing. The casting announcement for Laurie Metcalf was early November which means this episode was probably already written at that time. The schedule change announcement was made very late December. I think this episode wasn’t written as a return from a long break. If Supergirl had remained on the originally planned schedule E14 would’ve aired after a two week Olympic break.
I wondered about that, too. If that was the case, I don't know why they couldn't have just slid the hiatus back one week, ending with this episode before going on break. Surely, one week wouldn't have made a difference and it would have been at least one positive in this already terrible hiatus timing.

Hey wait you were auctioning off those ICON figures when we could have had the real thing pre-packaged? ;)

Toyman is such a fun villain. Looks great but a painful wait.

All I have to say is, please don't let Kara need saving.

Is this Alex we see behind the crazy ''toy woman'' when she's talking to Supergirl who's stuck in that plastic thing?

Seems like Alex is the one in the distance pointing a gun behind that woman.

BTW, the actress in front is Brooke Smith, a former Grey's Anatomy cast member, like Chyler Leigh.

Probably will, considering this one will concern Winn reuniting with his mother, whom he hasn't seen in awhile. Dovetails nicely with Alex seeking motherhood, and Samantha's parenting issues.

The connection with Kara will likely focus on Toyman seeking revenge on SG for the loss of his son's support, even in death.

"I don't mind scenes where SuperGirl needs help getting out of a jam, after all she is not invincible and I like seeing the team work together on these missions that come up. As long as SuperGirl remains the one with superior power and strength among the team members and remains the center of her show, I'm fine with the team sometimes having to save her."

Yes, those are exactly my feelings, too!
In fact, I always try to get the entire Supergirl Team involved in the plot in my own Supergirl fan fiction stories. I love the "teamwork" aspect of the show :)

We've gone so long without content, I'm excited that we've actually got a trailer!! Looks like a filler, but hopefully it's a good filler like the Midvale episode. :-)
