Final Season Schedule Announced

Its a bit of a mixed bag of news when it comes to today's newest press release. The CW has given us the final schedule for all of the remaining episodes of Supergirl for the rest of the season. In doing so, we can finally say definitively that season 3 will run for the often sought after 23 episodes! That's one more than last year! However, with Black Lightning joining the schedule mid-season, The CW wasn't entirely sure what to do with Legends of Tomorrow so it would seem Legends will be borrowing Supergirl's 8pm time slot for 9 weeks starting February 12th to finish out it's season. Starting back up again on April 16th, Supergirl will return to run its final ten episode uninterrupted! While some may read into this as a concerning sign, we don't take it that way at all. The season is usually set into thirds anyway and the consecutive uninterrupted nature of a new comic show on Monday nights at 8pm would seem to be a strong draw for the CW. The only hurdle we think we'll have to get through is surviving on 4 new episodes before going on break again!

Let us know what you think of this schedule in the comments below and in the forum. Keep us going over the break and keep us advertisement free and visit the support page.

However, some of the confusion does stem from sloppy writing from click-bait sites this week, and from the deceptive fan petition at change.org that will accomplish nothing. The show production is already on holiday break, as per schedule.

Click bait sites prey on the fans of these shows, and when they see some fans all up in arms about something they go after THAT. Had the fans just chilled, and let this happen as planned, there would have been absolutely no problem. But, today's fans seem to think that they know best, that they have a right to get their way, and when they don't get their way (you have activists brought in who have no clue of what has happened #Supercorp stuff, fans crying over Floriana's exit, and the writers can't even wish people happy holidays without getting berated by fans, and we can't not include #Karamel fans because they do the same thing), you have click bait sites that feed the frenzy by talking about cancellation, you have fans crying that they aren't being heard....ETC. The fans ARE BEING HEARD, this season is proof of that. But, actors leave, and craziness ensues, change to scheduling and fans cry out that it will ruin the show. When, IN FACT, it is the fans that have done the most damage and harm to this series. I know some here do not agree with that, and that is fine, but IMO it is the truth.

It will only air 3-4 weeks longer than some other shows. Thats it. Its not like its airing in July. We start Jan 15th with new episodes again with 4 new ones. Then a break and will then Pick up with new episodes again April 16th all the way to 18th June. SG is cw’s most consistent show and its nr 2-3 in demo only Behind Flash and SPN right now. In viewers its nr 2 only behind Flash. Its not going anywhere. Its also the 2nd best performing show of their DCTV shows. It will be on the air as long as Melissa wants to continue. Likely to season 6 or 7 i think.

As Kelly and you have said, the show will go on as long as Melissa and the show runners want it to....and nobody from the show or the network is indicating anything differently.

However, some of the confusion does stem from sloppy writing from click-bait sites this week, and from the deceptive fan petition at change.org that will accomplish nothing. The show production is already on holiday break, as per schedule.

Not that this would mean anything as Supergirl's last show of the season is June 18, 2018.
That's three days after WPIX channel 11's 70th birthday.

Thanks so much! That's just what I had in mind. Now we just need it to be someplace where it can be found easily for reference...

So I'm not ready to launch it yet but this is my first stab at trying to accomplish your request. Check it out and let me know what you think: https://supergirl.tv/schedule

Thank you so much, really appreciate your working on it! Honestly I was just looking for a list (e.g. date, episode #, episode name), so you don't need to get too fancy (at least not on my account).

Mods, would it be possible to add a "Schedule" page to the website saying which dates SG will run and which episodes will be on which dates? It would be a HUGE help to me, I was already losing track before this newest shakeup. And I'm sure a lot of other fans would appreciate it also! (Personally I would be motivated to make a donation b/c it would save me a lot of off-site searching every time I want to check an episode date, or which nights there won't be an episode...)

For the first time, the show gets a 23-episode season, the longest so far, which will be very odd if they'll cancel the series after the season will be over. In other words, i don't really think that there is any reason to be worry about.

They aren't canceling the series.

Kelly, i didn't say they are. To the contrary, i said that there is no reason for them to do it and i don't believe they will, at least not this season.

I would bet that it will go as long as Melissa wants to put the suit on.

People keep bringing up March Madness as if LOT will be battling it a whole month, but I just want to point out that there's actually only one Monday that the NCAA tournament happens on, and it's the first one in April. And the Olympics only air on two Mondays. So I don't think it's fair to say CW is feeding Legends of Tomorrow to the sharks, as I've seen. It's really not that bad.
