Not Kansas Synopsis

Episode 321, titled "Not Kansas", now has a synopsis. A very sly synopsis if we are being honest. We learned from the synopsis of episode 320. titled "Dark Side of the Moon" that Krypton would have at least one of it's cities surviving the destruction of the planet! Many comic book aficionados might know this city as Argo city. In fact, Argo has a big part to play in the comics. The story of "New Krypton" actually comes to mind, written by once Supergirl author and current Flash writer, Sterling Gates. Could this big life change revolve around Kara's desire to leave Earth? Read the synopsis below and let us know your thoughts:

KARA CONSIDERS A MAJOR LIFE CHANGE – Kara (Melissa Benoist) makes a major life decision. Meanwhile, J’onn (David Harewood) finds out that special DEO-caliber guns have hit the streets of National City. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Gabriel Llanas & Anna Musky-Goldwyn (#321).

OK, somebody help me out here because I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to all the comic history, canon, etc. But if Kara returned to "New Krypton" or whatever (even temporarily, which I'm certain would be the case), wouldn't she lose her powers? Where is the story in that?

Yes, Kara always lost her powers whenever she was in the Kryptonian city of Kandor. She had to rely on one of those Kryptonian jet packs to fly around there!

As Zor-El said here, "Your happiness is ours, Kara!"

Wasn't New Krypton Argo City and not Kandor? Also, New Krypton was set up within our solar system IIRC, so she and all the Kryptonians retained their powers.

If I am not mistaken that storyline was left out of the proper DC cannon

Yes, it was. I was just using Kandor as an example of a Kryptonian city that Kara often visited (and lost her superpowers while there).

Speaking of the bottled city, will that ever come up in season 4, if ever?

I read on a now-defunct Twitter spoiler account that the only three people from the cast returning at the beginning of the season will be Kara, Alex, and Lena. Apparently, J'onn, Winn, Mon-El, and James are leaving- although I don't know if it's permanent or not. Again- just something I read- not sure how true. Not sure if it has anything to do with contract renewals or plot twist. If it's plot twist, I really hope they fill in some holes and start giving us some story continuity. It's been all over the place this season...

I read somewhere that some of the actors had 3 years contracts like David H. But maybe these are juste rumors. We cannot believe everything we read on the Internet... ;-) We'll have to wait and see. I would be sad to see them leave but as long as we have Mel B and Chyler L, we're more than okay!

I would say the title suggest that Kara realizes that the Krypton she loved as a child is not the same Krypton that she once knew. Although when she first finds out that a city survived she not sure of what to do. However, with new DEO type weapons hitting the street, our hero soon realizes that she is needed on earth more than she is needed on Krypton.
This is a good theory. Kara's been on Earth for more than half her life and she may realize she's actually more at home on Earth now. This would fit with the what does it mean to be human theme of the season.
