Mon-El Suits Up Poster

We've been wondering since episode 201, when would Mon-El suit up and wear his superhero uniform. As we saw in the extended trailer for "The Legion of Superheroes", the trio of Legionnaires will suit up and their team uniforms are pretty awesome. While it isn't the traditional inverse of Superman's uniform, Mon-El's suit is shown in some incredible detail in this newly released poster of episode 310. Upon closer inspection, the outline of the \s/ stands not just over his heart (like in the comics) but over his entire chest. Check it out for yourself below:

Yeah i hope your right. Mon-El has to have that iconic suit with cape from the comics. Hope Winn makes it for him soon and this is starting suit only.

Actually, I doubt that he's ever going to wear red, unless there's a Legion spin-off show in the works some day. That would make Mon-El appear brighter than the star of the show....and I don't think he's joining The Flash any time soon.

Often what works in primary-colored comics just doesn't work well in real life action...one could make that yellow spandex crack in the first X-Men flick as an example.

I meant red, like the red they use for Supergirl. I wasn't thinking it would be a bright red. I was hoping it would be the opposite coloring (same colors) of Supergirl's suit in the TV show. I think it would look sharp myself, but to each their own.

Now that more pics have come out, the suit is growing on me. It looks good and it appears to be blue (possibly a close blue to Supergirl's suit but it is hard to tell). I like the House of El symbol outlined on his chest. I still think he should have a cape. And I still would rather him be in one more like the comics. He's going to be awesome either way.

Why. That doesnt even make sense.
Supergirl is blue. Mon-El is red. Thats his iconic colors. He is Mon-El and his suit has to be what he wear in the comics too.

I hope someone does a photoshop of using the comic colors on Mon-El's suit as well as Saturn Girl's and Brainiac 5's.

"I guess I am confused as to who this character is actually supposed to be. Why would he have a House of El symbol on the chest if he is not from that family and not even from Krypton? For that matter, why is he named Mon-El, with the "El" addition in his name? I must have missed something in my pursuit of trying to keep up with the Kryptonian customs."

In the original Silver Age comics, Clark (as Superboy) discovered Mon-El's spaceship on a Monday. Incorrectly assuming he was Kryptonian, Clark game him the name Mon-El. "Mon" because he was discovered on Earth on a Monday, and El because Clark hoped that he was a member of the House of El.

So, I guess they will continue to call him Mon-el, cause they can't call him Valor. :/ He's very hot in that suit though. Those are black jeans...

Maybe it's empty because he doesn't have a "house" anymore? I look forward to them talking about it. Hopefully we'll get even more posters for the Legionnaires. Somebody claimed there would also be new Kara pictures?

In the Powergirl comics, there was a really nice scene on the top of the Daily Planet were Powergirl was explaining why she has a big whole in her uniform and not the \S/. (Yes it was basically a big window to her cleavage but ...), The reason she didn't put anything there was that she was afraid that she couldn't live up to that symbol. It was such a strong and honored symbol and she was inspired by it but scared she couldn't measure up. I kind of hope that is where they go with this. Mon-El is inspired by Supergirl's \S/ but is too scared to wear it himself ... at least for now.

My opinion is that we already have the only two House of El symbols on the chest that we need and those are designated for Supergirl and Superman. Leave the suit as it is; it looks fine.

I assume that they're they doing these posters for the other Legion characters, too?

I like the suit just the way it is. It should not be flashy because it's not his show, so none of their uniforms should be flashier then SuperGirl's in my opinion. I like the empty symbol because it shows they are fighting with SuperGirl and not trying to be SuperGirl or SuperMan for that matter...and again, they do not belong to the house of El. The poster is nice and I'm happy to see a serious MonEl, but it would be nice if they would release some new pictures of SuperGirl.

I agree. It's a nice suit. Very practical but still aesthetically pleasing.

I like this theory. Mon-El has always been modest about his accomplishments and it adds to my theory that Winn will end up making him a suit (either when he decides to stay or if his suit gets destroyed), but I think that suit will be more like the comic book. I would like to see him get a red suit with a small House of El symbol with the blue cape, opposite of Supergirl's colors. I don't think it would take away from Supergirl and the cape serves a purpose other than decoration. The visual of them together would be awe and some! And I would love for it to be Winn's design like we expected in S2.
