True! Sometimes years pass by on television when, in reality it's only been a few months or days even!

I just always got the impression that Midvale was farther away from National City than a few hours.

I drove the Coastal route 17 Mile drive, Big Sur, Hearst Castle etc. its a beautiful drive that needs time to observe and enjoy. Bear in mind Kara and Alex's choice to drive in a vehicle that can go to Mars very quickly when Kara would have no difficulty flying with the additional weight of Alex and Luggage.

Could be Carmel Eire-El. I’ve both driven and flown between San Francisco/Oakland to LA/Pasadena many times, I flew to Pasadena last month. There are scenic routes but is mostly highway. To get to most Northern California beach towns you’re on a highway up till the last 30-40 miles of your trip.

My best guess:

Day 1: Kara and Lucy reconcile and start the search
Night 1: escape on bikes during Manhunter

Day/week 2 (possibly more as this is where the ambiguity is): Team up with the Flash, Kara mentions Red K to Barry as though it happened a lot more than 2 weeks earlier
That night myriad launched

Next day myriad controlled drones turn up for work
That night Alex and J'onn turn up in Midvale.

Seems like I recall, and correct me if I'm wrong on this, but, didn't Alex and J'onn leave during the nighttime after the motorcycle chase, then were seen on the bus during the daytime and arrived at Eliza's during the late evening, perhaps the next night?

IF they were on the bus that entire time, that would put it more like a 12 hour trip or more by bus.

In Myriad we first saw Alex and J'onn having already boarded the bus for who knows how long. They were not in Worlds Finest as they were already on the run. So they are no use as a measurement.

I don't think it was ever made clear that the journey which began on motorcycles and ended on the bus was one continuous trip. They may have been in hiding for a day or more before boarding the bus. So Eire El may be correct; it may be impossible to ever know how many days they were on the run and how far they traveled.

Given some of the pictures show a country road, I doubt they are traveling at Freeway speeds to get to Midvale in a hurry. Probably instead taking their time enjoying Earth 38's equivalent of the 100 Mile Drive and Big Sur. I'd hazard a guess Midvale could probably be near the 17 Mile Drive or Carmel.

I can't argue with these observations. But I'll note there really is a Midvale, Ohio that is a short distance from a body of water. Evidently though Kara and the Danvers family are Californians and not from the Midwest. I would rather have seen them in the latter but that's only my own provincial point of view.

The way I would see it is anything above a 3 hour drive, for safety reasons driving time would need to shared by at least 2 people (which may explain two of the above pictures). Granted US Freeways and Highways are far easier to drive than the Motorway and National Road equivalents here in Ireland.

Eliza being on her own would probably prefer a 1 hour relaxing flight to a 4 hour drive.

This episode got me thinking where is Midvale? I know National City is a stand in for Los Angeles like Metropolis is a stand in for New York City. We know Midvale is by the ocean because Kara was at the beach with Alex and the other kids when she saved the mother and baby in the season one flashback.

We know Midvale is by the ocean because Kara was at the beach with Alex and the other kids when she saved the mother and baby in the season one flashback. During S1E5 Eliza flew in so it’s probably not just a couple of hours drive. Alex and J’onn took a bus in S1E19 and it didn’t seem like enough time had passed for a cross country bus trip. Those things coupled with the fact that the sisters are driving leads me to believe that Midvale is 350-400 miles from National City, a days road trip but far enough that a plane is also an option. If you go south from LA for 150 miles your in Mexico so Midvale must be north of National City. San Francisco is 380 miles north of LA could Midvale be one of the small towns by the beach in the in the Bay Area?

II would say it is Modesta, California.

Do you mean Modesto, which is in the Bay Area but it’s not close enough to the beach that the kids could’ve gone after school. I’m now thinking Santa Cruz or Monterey which are the right distance from LA and right on the beach.

Ooops, put an "a" instead of an "o".....blame it on my Texas accent.

Really looking forward to this one, I like the way they set it up in the last few minutes of this weeks episode. One of my favourite episodes of Lois and Clark was the Season 1 episode The Green Green Glow of Home where Lois and Clark go back to Smallville and he doesn’t turn into Superman once and it really works, hoping for the same with Midvale. :-)
