'Midnight' Villian is Cast for Co-Star Role

Supergirl has found a very interesting and frankly deadly villain for season 5. Before we start saying this is a big bad, we believe that this role is going to be more of an episodic villain rather than season long. What makes this new villain so interesting, however, is the way in which the villain is brought into the show. She is freed from an "other-worldly" prison! Does that mean she could be brought to us from the Monitor? Could she be from a different dimension? The villain is named Midnight and will be played by Jennifer Cheon Garcia Variety has learned. She is described as:

The physical manifestation of darkness, Midnight is a murderous villain released from an otherwordly prison to enact revenge against the person who put her there.

We are so excited to see what this villain might look like! Let us know what you think of Midnight in the comments below and the forum! Keep us advertisment free and visit the support page!

I get a golden age of radio vibe from this character Midnight, described as a murderer. I am reminded of a program called Murder at Midnight.

This program had macabre tales of suspense, often with a supernatural twist. It was produced in New York and syndicated beginning in 1946 from the Mutual Broadcasting System.

The program host was Raymond Morgan, who delivered this opening line over an organ theme:

Quote:
"Midnight, the witching hour when the night is darkest, our fears the strongest, and our strength at its lowest ebb. Midnight, when the graves gape open and death strikes."

Always nice to see a good supervillain show up and pose a legitimate threat.

At first I had a concern over the word "co-star" but this could just mean two actors are playing the same role somewhere in the show. It will be nice to see a real evil villain that SuperGirl has to defeat. I hope she is truly episodic and not someone who is there for the whole season. I would like to see SuperGirl fight a number of different villains this season. I have a feeling season 5 is going to be an action packed - I am eager for it to start.

I really should have said Guest-star.

Soooooo who put her in that otherworld prison? Hmmmmmm....Rojas is a possibility.

I've wondered if Lena was going to be the one they used to usher in Supereoman since Lucy left.

She is based on the comics villainess from the 2017 Superwoman comics series where Lana was Superwoman instead of New 52 Lois Lane, who was dead. I wonder if they're going to bring in Lana as Superwoman based on the current comics.

I wonder if Midnight is the Monitor's test for Kara before CoIE. That could make her a more than a single episode but not season long villain. It would be an interesting juxtaposition for the Monitor to put Kara who of all the Arrowverse heroes represents the light against the physical manifestation of darkness. That fits with the Monitor's whole everything in balance thing. The only issue is it isn't Kara, or any of the other characters we already know, who put Midnight in that otherworldly prison. Maybe it's the new owner of CatCo Andrea Rojas who put Midnight away and Supergirl has to step in to save the day thus again proving she's a hero willing to put others before herself.

Should be interesting. Let's hope it's not simply a one-and-done appearance.
