I know it would take all the out of drama things so that's why it would never be done but why doesn't anyone think of taking Kara to Earth-1 while they figure out how to clear the Kryptonite from the atmosphere. Both Alex and J'onn have met Barry and company and know Kara has a interdimensional extrapolator.
Yep, or they could take her to Argo, spend a little family time with mom and cousin. ;-) . But, like you said, that wouldn't be nearly as exciting or suspenseful.

I know, but with the arrival at first of Winn au Deo and the omnipresence of Lena as a scientist. Alex was mainly relegated as a doctor during season 3. And considering the summary of the next episode, it is not this season that she will regain her role as Bio Engineer.
Alex's ability or skills seem to fluctuate over the years. First season, she was the expert on Kryptonian physiology and was somewhat seen as a specialist in Kara's care, along-side a physician. She also was described as someone of very high intellect. So, I don't think that it would be a stretch to believe that when combining her intelligence, her extensive background knowledge on biomedical engineering and the practical experience she has had in the DEO's medical triage unit, she could pass as a physician.

I think that Alex has mostly been showcased as a kick-ass agent but, I would love to see them spend more time highlighting her intelligence and her ability to come up with scientific solutions at the DEO. However, they seemed to have pushed that role over to Lena and now Brainy.

"With this in mind, I hope that despite her leadership role, we will find Alex's Physician side for Supergirl in addition to her sister role."

According to Sterling Gates' "Adventures of Supergirl" comics series, Alex is actually a biomedical engineer by training (rather than a physician).

"I'm guessing it'll be Lena who solves the kryptonite-diffusion problem, since she invented both artificial kryptonite and the diffuser, but that would mean someone will have to tell her Supergirl has been taken down..."

Wasn't the diffuser originally said to have been designed by Lex Luthor? Also, I don't believe we were ever specifically told that Lena invented the synthetic kryptonite. I recall that there was a lot of speculation last season that she may have access to Lex's formulas and lab procedures. (In the comics, Lex first synthesized kryptonite in 1949!)

I am mixed, I know they have certainly made this choice following the reduced availability of the actress. Nevertheless, this remains a topic that was addressed in the previous season, for my part I feel a sense of déjà vu a little too recent.

But unlike last time, they will not have the technology of the future available. With this in mind, I hope that despite her leadership role, we will find Alex's Physician side for Supergirl in addition to her sister role.

For Lena, if it seems impossible that she does not know the identity of Supergirl. I wish she did not know, because unlike her super fans, I can not forget her multiple betrayals last season. And for me, if she knew that Kara was Supergirl at that time, it would be even worse. I do not think that learning it now would be really beneficial.

I hope we get to see Kara in some form other than asleep, even if it's flashbacks. I'm guessing it'll be Lena who solves the kryptonite-diffusion problem, since she invented both artificial kryptonite and the diffuser, but that would mean someone will have to tell her Supergirl has been taken down... and will she care if she doesn't know it's Kara? (Though really, how could she not know at this point?) Should be interesting...

Wow... They sure have gotten a lot of use outta that bridge collapse. bah ha ha ha Hasn't it been used in all 4 seasons? Lol
LOL At this point it’s a running gag and they are now obligated to use it once in every season.
Quoting Stars16:
...Will Supergirl 's new suit be worn the remainder of season 4 or will Lena be able to make Earth's atmosphere tolerable for the House of El survivors with Brainy's help
Since there’s plenty of BTS shots of Melissa filming later episodes in the skirted suit I think the Kryptontite will be cleared by the end of episode four. That face covering suit was one way to compensate for Melissa’s absence. No way they want to continue covering her face.

Even though we know we won't see a lot of Mel in episode 3 and 4, I like the way they chose to present the story with Supergirl being close to death. I must say though that I have no interest in the backstory of agent Liberty. He seems like a good vilain but in the present. I would have preferred to see a backstory on a younger Lena and Mercy or Alex when she began her training for the DEO. Finally, I think the timing would be perfect for Lena to find out Kara is Supergirl. I hope we at least see Lena at her bedside for a few seconds. From Lena's reactions in Fallout, It seems like she still cares about Supergirl or at least, she has respect for her. It would be interesting if, Alex in a moment of emotions, let it slips that Supergirl is her sister with Lena standing near by. Lena would probably feel conflicted seeing her friend near death (because of kryptonite, the main reason for the rift between them) and finding out she was kept in the dark. Next week episode can't come soon enough!

Looks like it will be a humdinger. Should be a good hour of TV viewing. ;-)

Finally we get an episode where SuperGirl is close to death and we get to see the reactions of her family, friends and colleagues. First season we had an episode like this in "For the Girl who has everything" and it was an excellent episode. Last season when this happened beginning with the episode "Reign" it was rushed through - looks like this season they are going to take the proper time showing us what happens in a situation this dire and how Alex, is determined not to lose her sister. We get to see the emotions of those who love her. Also, I love seeing what I have been waiting to also see which is Martian Manhunter carrying SuperGirl when she is helpless. Needless to say I cannot wait for this episode. Would seem like this would be a good time for Lena to find out that Kara is SuperGirl.
