We felt so clever last time Kevin Smith directed an episode of Supergirl calling it his Hat Trick of the year! In this case, Hat Trick was referring to scoring three goals in a game. But now that he is confirmed to be directing an episode in season four, we did our research. Kevin Smith is going for a Sombrero of directing Supergirl episodes! For those that don't know a Sombrero is the term used when a bowler gets four strikes in a row! That's the dedication you can rely on here at Supergirl.tv! His episodes have generally been very well done and written. Smith revealed the news on his podcast #FatmanonBatman, with guest host and writer of Supergirl Eric Carassco! 'fraid not. Some click bait sites are erroneously reporting that Smith is directing episode 4.04....which is wrong, since production has been filming that for about a week now. He's actually scheduled to film episode 4.08 (which will be the one prior to the Batwoman crossover) in September.
Also, episode 4.03 should be 'in the can' at this point (since it's the one they started film work on first). But it also seems more likely that click-bait sites are deliberately misreading the episode's title for the overly curious. :)
