James' Sister to Series Regular for Season 5

It sounds like an Olsen/Danvers ship is set to sail in Supergirl season 5, but not the James/Kara variety! TVLine.com has learned that Azie Tesfai, who we'll get our first glimpse at on Sunday as James’ sister Kelly Olsen, will be a full-time series regular next season. We've been reading the tea leaves on this and had this is our rumor/spoiler section for awhile, but we are finally going to see this new romance come to blossom. How Alex and Kelly will meet, what makes the sparks fly and what will keep Kelly in National City is not yet known but we'll get a great first look Sunday!

I was frankly bored with it, didn't see or feel any chemistry, and it seems like another forced pairing without chemistry that they hope they can fix with "writing". wish they would let Alex just be Alex and not waste so much time and energy on ineffective and unwanted relationships on a non soap opera show.

Quoting Kelly:

If Floriana didnt want to stay.....they couldnt force her, and dont people break up and find other people all the time? Also, to me it was bad writing, they wrote Maggie pretty toxic. I would hope that these writers dont make that mistake. I would hpe they write Kelly with far less baggage, and far more strength of character, someone that lifts Alex up.

All good points - I guess we will see what the writers do - whatever they decide to do I am in agreement with the sentiments posted we need to see more of the powers and might of SuperGirl and I only hope that the adding of additional characters do not detract even further from the titular character of the show. I love this show and want to see it succeed. but the writers need to get back to focusing the show on SuperGirl. However, for me, the major "gripe" this season is the Mind wipe of Alex. It needs to go. - period.

I wonder when they will promote Melissa Benoist to series regular. Her character Kara seems really interesting.

You quote sums up everything succinctly - I love it :-)

I really don't get it. If you are going to give Alex another love interest, then why not keep Maggie. I thought one of the main complaints with the love interests were that they took away from the Danver sister talks at the end. Discussions that needed to be addressed by the sisters were not done (i.e. the talk as to Alex saying to Kara she wasn't acting like family; the forgetting of Kara's birthday, no talk at the end of Kara saving Alex when she was on the ship with aliens being flown away, etc). I really don't get this, we are just repeating what was done and did not work in previous seasons. I don't know who the writers are but their reasoning behind repeating things that don't work is beyond my understanding - I just don't understand stupidity. On top of the fact that I am looking at SuperGirl to see SuperGirl, you know, the girl of steel and might - neither of which has been seen recently.

How about no corners for anyone, chilling is cool if that's what one wants to do. I'm all for a good gripe fest they can be cathartic and actually wind up improving my overall perspective. I don't have the answer here perhaps it will be up to each of to find our own.

My problems are not for what is to come, I have welcomed the new cast member on Twitter, have no problem with her at all. My problems with this season are very much with what has been seen, or not seen in the case of Supergirl. We have seen her use her talents, but little actual fighting sequences since Ep. 4, on her own.... Her stunt doubled has assured me those are coming back, so cool. However, we have seen others showing their Superness all over the place, to the point of SG actually stepping aside in fights, or not being seen at all. The Red Daughter storyline is one that 100% is a Supergirl storyline, the others all seem to revolve around other secondary characters of Alez, Nia, Jonn with Brainy in 2nd and SG in third. Her full on storyline is not until the last quarter of the season, and we now hear that Alex once again gets more added to her story. Please allow those that have some problems with a show we love to air those problems without being called a mob. Honestly, I knew airing my problems here would cause angst, hence why I haven't posted here at all the season. I'll just go back to my corner and chill. :/
