“Kara Danvers was a mistake.” That’s what Supergirl says in the trailer for the upcoming season. Season 2 found Supergirl saying goodbye to Mon El (who she thinks is gone forever) and battling both Lillian Luthor and Rhea. When Supergirl says Kara was a mistake, she really means that her human feelings, not evil villains, are too much to bear.

At the start of season 3, Supergirl has decided to focus on being a superhero 24/7 and will turn away from being Kara Danvers. Like any great hero, however, her time on the dark side will, no doubt, lead her back home. The latest BTS photos/videos do show a reappearance of a happy Kara in the alien bar with her friends around episode 5.

Who do you think will be the most influential in helping Supergirl resolve the question of what it means to be human and have humanity and that it is still possible for her to be both Supergirl and Kara Danvers?

we learned in a recent article on comicbook.com that Lena will feel very guilty about what happened to Kara at the end of season 2, and thus will make a large gesture to Kara to make it up to her. We also saw in the most recent trailer that Cat is going to be the Press Secretary and will likely sell Catco. I am speculating that Morgan Edge comes in as a potential buyer and Lena beats him to it and buys Catco to keep things more or less status quo at Catco for Kara. This will put her at odds with Morgan Edge and the line 'Kara Danvers was a mistake' is in my opinion clever editing of an incomplete sentence and not part of the 'I'm not human' statements. I can see supergirl saying to Lena something like 'maybe listening to(or 'helping') Kara Danvers was a mistake'.
