I want this movie to happen. I'm a LONG time Batgirl fan. And if it does, I'd personally like it to be about Batgirl after she finally recovers paralysis, with flashbacks to her origin, her maiming by the Joker, and time as Oracle.

But, if I'm being completely honest with myself, I don't think this movie is happening, anymore. The only reason Batgirl was on the slate is because Joss wanted to make it, and it was a condition of him coming in and finishing Justice League.

With Joss out (who was writing, producing, and directing), I don't think this will get made. DC has more movies in "Development Hell" than movies they've actually released in their DCEU. The Batman, The Flash/Flashpoint, Batgirl, Joker/Harley, Suicide Squad 2, Gotham City Sirens, Nightwing, Cyborg, Green Lantern Corps, Justice League Dark. There hasn't been any real headway made towards any of them.

2018 gives us Aquaman, 2019 will likely give us Shazam, and MAYBE Wonder Woman 2, but that's more likely 2020.

At this pace, and the lackluster reception of everything except Wonder Woman, it's not hard to tell that that movie slate will be scaled back SIGNIFICANTLY. And Batgirl just lost the one guy who was championing to get it made.
