Seeing some disturbing rumors that the whole male cast except Mehcad is gonna leave the show. Cryptic tweets and Instagram posts by David shooting his last days

Please tell me Supergirltv staff that these rumors that David, Chris and Jeremy are leaving SG is untrue :( ?

This would put an end to the show if this happened it would test all male viewers watching the show.

Everyone at the end of the season, sure, could be separating from Kara. Doesn't mean come season 4 episode 1, they don't all come back together. Or, even the first few episodes of Season 4 could be them having to "gather each other up." After all, Mon-El left season 2 :p So, of course, the actors are going to be cryptic--to keep us guessing Mua ha ha ha ha ha ha

Ok, so since we've been getting a lot of outside views lately where folks are quoting the site, I want to be clear in my statements here, both to you guys as members of the site and for anyone else that will use this as FACT.

I'll start by saying, I don't know. I don't know what casting changes are going to happen or not happen. Right now, the show isn't saying anything on official channels and if they do, we'll likely hear from the bigger outlets first (entertainment weekly, tvline). Now that the show is wrapping up season 3, (as of today I believe), most of the cast changes should likely be decided if there are any. But again, I don't know what they are.

Here's what I do know and please take this to heart. When casting changes, exits happen, it isn't the end of the world. It also isn't personal or vindictive. These actors are all incredibly talented and their talents may take them other places. They also have families that are all over the world and being away from them can be difficult. The writers, who also change from time to time, aren't writing people out for vindictive purposes or to punish fans (even writing that sounds ludicrous). As I have said time and time again, Supergirl is a business and the business of Supergirl changes which can force creative changes to reflect what is happening in the business.

Even if someone does leave, it doesn't mean its permanent or forever. Look at Arrow for example, Roy is back as a season regular next year. Constantine has joined the Legends for next season! If the actors take a season off or take on a reduced roll it dosn't preclude the ability to come back later on.

Now, here's what you should NOT do. Do not start tweeting at the writers, actors, the show, or pick a fight online with other factions blah blah blah. When/if these turnovers happen its in the course of business. When/if the show is ever in danger of cancellation, that is when we will sound the alarm bells and lead the campaign of writing letters and or social media campaigns.

Before anyone goes into my words here trying to cypher any hidden meanings, let me reiterate again, I don't know. I really don't know if there will be turn overs. Lets remember we are all fans of Supergirl the show and the character. As long as we have her, (and in my opinion Alex) we have a show.

Shows go through these changes all the time. David and Jeremy sought after actors and very well could have other projects. As far as Chris, he has been on 2 other CW shows, and may very well have another project coming within the CW....who knows.

But just because it happens to be 3 guys does not mean there are problems. It simply means, at least in the case of Jeremy and David that their 3 year contracts came up, and they have chosen to move on to other projects. David doesn't actually surprise me, he made it very clear last season that he was not happy with how Cyborg Superman was used. He has been on the sidelines a good portion of this season, so if you have other opportunities that give you juicier roles to play, you take them. They could also simply be moving to recurring roles, which honestly that is pretty much what they were this season. There are also rumors that Jesse Rath will be staying on as Brainy....that is actually something I would love to see, and Chris may be moving to a recurring role as well and do what he should do remain the leader of the LoS and go back to the future.

But, should we be worried? Why? What is there to worry about?

Bottom line these are still ALL RUMORS, NOTHING has been set in stone. Why worry over something that may never happen, and if it does, Melissa Benoist is still Supergirl, as far as I'm concerned that is all that needs to stay solid.

please reread what I wrote. I don’t know, but saying the sky is falling based on what I said is exactly what I suggested we not do. At this point I simply don’t know and the show isn’t going to say officially for now. There is no way to know for sure either way.

Hmm. If people do leave it does affect the show quite a bit. One cannot just say we’re here for Kara alone. At least I’m not. Arrow was ruined when they basically switched out the old people.

That being said nothing is certain. Whatever happens, happens. This show’s had a good run. This season was great, and that’s basically all I could ask for.

I, because I'm an idiot, am one that fell for Eric's little ole April Fool's joke for a good hot minute. And one thing's for sure to me now, Supergirl could lose everybody BUT Chyler and Melissa, and I'd be fine. Keep those two, and we're golden.

But why fret? They also said someone would die the end of season 1. As sweet as Catco Kelly was, I don't think her death warranted death rumors. lol So... Who KNOWS what happens come season's end. Enjoy the ride.

Speaking as a male viewer, if the rumors are true, I will continue watching still.

This is but a tempest in a teacup.

Relax and let whatever unfolds come to pass as it should. If some characters do not return, it's out of our hands. However, I am of the opinion that the majority, if not all, of the original 5 will be back.

Cryptic messages are simply a way to generate a little bit of a buzz. It will likely amount to nothing substantial. Get over it. Please.

Me, too!

"And one thing's for sure to me now, Supergirl could lose everybody BUT Chyler and Melissa, and I'd be fine. Keep those two, and we're golden."

Yes, I agree :)

And if the show does lose Wiinn, J'onn, and James, there's no reason they couldn't bring in other male characters from the original Supergirl comics. They already have Brainy, so how about also adding Dick (not "Rick" ) Malverne and Jerro (from Atlantis, the abode of Aquaman)? Then there are other female friends from the comics. They already have Lena, so how about adding Donna Storm and Debbie Porter? I also really liked Jen Bard and Dolly Granger from the recent "Being Super" comics series. I'd say there are plenty of possibilities for new, interesting characters from the original comics.

This is something that us fans have absolutely no control over and I have things in my life that are in my control to worry about so I think my time is better spent changing the things I can. For the record we'll get more information at network upfront in less than two weeks when the show description with all the regular characters is released. We are actually in uncharted territory with the mid June finale usually shows have either finished their seasons already of at the most have one more episode by upfront week.

These actors don't owe us fans a thing besides portraying a fictional character to the best of their ability. They don't owe fans their presence at convections or on social media. If their contract is up they have every right to chose not to sign a new one and guess what they don't even owe fans an explanation for their choice. Remember when this cast signed on they signed on for a show filmed in Los Angeles, where most of them called home, not for being away from friends and family for 9/10 months out of the year. This is different from the casts of the other DCTV shows that didn't have a location change.

To be honest the cast member I was most concerned about was actually Chyler because she's the only cast member with children, which adds additional difficulties to being away from home. For the record she tweeted almost right after the season four renewal announcement how excited she was for season four. The Danvers sisters are the heart of the show.

I wonder if The CW will actually have any information during their upfront presentation on May 17. There will still be 5 episodes left of Season 3 at that point so I would rather they didn't give any details on Season 4 (such as who is or isn't going to be on the show). Avoid spoilers at all costs please CW.

Agreed, Kiwi. I don't wanna know anything till after the last episode airs. I suspect, they'll be rather cryptic on what's going to occur next season, and maybe share more info later--certainly more at Comic Con.

I would love it if we don’t get anything on season 4 until this season is over. I would actually rather have fewer synopsis released, we recently got S3E19 and we haven’t even seen S3E17 yet. I looked it up SDCC starts July 18th, as I recall they started filming this season the first week of July. Chances are we’ll know something between the finale and SDCC.

Why would it "test" all male viewers? Personally I didn't come to watch it for any of the male characters.

Can't see Chris leaving on bad terms considering he's dating Melissa last I heard.

Um, actually I am, and based on past comments a lot of people are.
Most sad there are no rumours James' character is getting axed. I'd drink to that. As for the others the only one I'd half care about is Winn.

Otherwise out with the dead weight. Can afford to pay Mel more, she deserves it :D

I don't remember who said that we can't be here for just Kara? YEAH, YEAH we can....I fall into that category. Don't get me wrong, I love the characters of Alex, Jonn, Winn, etc..... but none of them are what brought me to this series, nor would their departure turn me off of the series. I'm here for Supergirl and Supergirl alone. I am just very grateful that we have someone as talented and with the gravitas as Melissa to portray our superhero...so as long as Melissa is on board, I'm on board.

I agree with Kelly. This show could lose ALL of it's supporting cast. James, Alex, Winn, J'onn, Mon-el, Lena. I would still watch it for Kara/Supergirl. She's the character I care about.

I wish everyone the best. However, a reduction in the number of supporting characters might improve the show's focus, not to mention reducing the 'The name of the show is "GIrl" ' criticism. Some of the soap opera bits could be tuned down appreciably. The changes in management may have advanced this situation.
