Most agree that James was not well used this season. Since Ian Gomez has his own show Snapper probably won't be back. It also appears (crosses fingers) that Cat is staying in National City, she said "Cat Grant, not going anywhere", so no more James as CEO. It would make sense for James to take Snapper's job as editor and chief. It could be interesting to have James be Kara's direct boss, how will she react when he tells her to rewrite an article.

It would make sense to make for James to take Snapper's job as editor and chief. It could be interesting to have James be Kara's direct boss, how will she react when he tells her to rewrite an article.


Totally agree, Brierrose. Would love to see him as Kara's direct boss... Or even go back to taking photos.

The point of Snapper was to tell Kara that she sucks so Kara doesn't get everything handed to her and actually has to work a bit. That's why he always had her rewriting her articles a couple of times. It's supposed to humanize her and show that she has some obstacles in life too.

I'm not sure if James could really do the same thing, since he is Kara's friend and would probably have a much harder time telling her something isn't good enough to be published.

I'm not sure if James could really do the same thing, since he is Kara's friend and would probably have a much harder time telling her something isn't good enough to be published.

And that would be the challenge for both of them. Kara still has lots to learn about being a journalist and James legitimately has experience with that. We saw a tiny bit of that in "Luthors" when James published stories about Lena being guilty over Kara's objections.

Unfortunately for James, i feel that the writers have done irreparable damage to the character this season, and there is no bringing him back.
