Hey everyone, I am making a graph of sorts. I need agreements on the top three feats of strength that Supergirl has accomplished. My thinking is, lifting Fort Rozz, Pushing alien ship back to Earth, and lifting the submarine. I could also see stopping a train (this season) or fight with Reign. What do you guys think are the top 3?
You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.

Saving Alex's flight in the pilot, Red Tornado, and saving the spaceship with Alex on board.

Supergirl giving Fort Roz solar escape velocity required something like 10^16 watts of power for over a minute.
On return to earth, she definitely needed a few pot stickers.

This is a hard one because she's had quite a few. Might be better if one of the very informative scientists that we have on the site put their two cents in to help set a more accurate gauge.

This is a tough one as there's been some great strength feats through the seasons, my Top 3 would be:

1) Lifting Fort Rozz - Still the ultimate feat of strength thus far from my perspective
2) Stopping the Alien Spaceship from going to a galaxy far far away
3) Saving the plane in The Pilot, pretty impressive strength feat to tilt the plane and guide it through the bridge, and as Kara said herself to Alex "I've just carried a plane on my back".
I like all of these, too. The thing that makes #3 impressive is that it not only required strength to do it but, it was also her first attempt at doing something so big. Having the strength is one thing, but being so inexperienced yet, still able to use it to result in a mostly positive outcome made it a highlight for me.

I can see a case for this. That said, if you remove the success she had being so new to her powers, is this a "stronger"? feat than the submarine?

I'm not sure - what's the weight of the plane compared to the submarine - and the force she had to use to lift the submarine up out of the water compared to a plane in the air but, traveling faster? Or her weakened state from being in the water so long? :D Not trying to be adversarial, just don't know and probably is a good question for Stewart or some others that have a background in this area.

Oh no worries, I don’t take it adversarial at all. These are good topics to explore. I was using a force calculator (not Star Wars) and found something like 8 million pounds per square inch would be needed for the submarine but it doesn’t account for water, speed of assention or resting rate holding the sub. That said westling the plane could be even more! I am just very curious to see if I can put a real number to some of the feats Supergirl has done. Then we might have a relative number for her actual canonical strength in the show.

"You could even consider picking up the key to the Fortress of Solitude to be a feat of strength, didn't James say it was 1 million tonnes of Dwarf-star or something to that effect. "

Yes - but maybe the "million tons" in that scene was more of a figure of speech, though. It's like if someone says that they don't mind if you take a paper clip off their desk, because they have "millions" of them; they don't mean for the word "million" to be taken literally. (In that context, it just means that they have enough paper clips that letting you have one won't make any difference to them.)

"it doesn’t account for water, speed of assention (actually, ascension) or resting rate holding the sub."

Yes, there are many variables in this case (more precisely, many factors that can affect buoyancy). Without more definite information, there's no way to make any meaningful sort of calculation.

The key to the Fortress of Solitude also was stated to weigh 1 million tons in the first Superman movie; although other places state half a million tons. In any case: very heavy! (much more than a submarine or airplane).

Agreed - but the TV version of Supergirl often doesn't seem to have the extreme power level of the movie and cartoon versions of Superman (and the Superman of the Silver Age comics ). Actually, Kara's power level appears to fluctuate on the TV show, and generally be somewhere between those of the Silver Age and Golden Age Superman. That's what made me wonder if the "million tons" remark was intended to be taken literally. (Of course, I have no idea what the writers actually had in mind!)
