I'm not sure that Lois should be introduced at all because it would highlight a timeline problem. Cat seems to be in her early 50s basically Calista's actual age, which makes sense given all she's accomplished. A company like Cat Co take years to build. Let's assume that Clark started at the Daily Planet as a college intern 15ish years ago. To have Cat and Clark's even cross paths at the Daily Plant is iffy. Didn't Cat say she was starting Cat Co when Adam was a baby, if that's the cast there's no way Cat and Clark were even at the Daily Planet at the same time. Then there's the issue of Tyler being younger than Clark should be which they neatly sidestepped with the Kryptons age slower explanation. In order for Lois and Cat to be rivals in the way Cat implies Lois would have to be early 40ish so the actress cast should be about 10 years older that Tyler. It could be done as long as the timeline isn't mentioned I guess.

If Lois must be introduced simply have Clark and Lois come to Thanksgiving dinner at Kara's.

Yep, thanksgiving is exactly what I myself had in mind.

Let's not forget that most of the time the actresses cast for Lois are older than the Clark's. Teri Hatcher and Amy Adams are older than Dean Cain and Henry Cavil.

So it isn't unlikely that they cast Lois Lane as someone who is in her late 30's. Remember Clark doesn't age as fast. And Jenna who plays Lucy is in her early 30's. So a Lois Lane casting would be for someone around 36-40.

But your right with the timeline stuff with Cat working in the planet and starting her company. She was an assistant for Perry white, so she could of started that job when she was between the age of 18-21.

I am assuming Catco hasn't been around for as long as we might think. Maybe a decade, because she had to have worked been working with Clark and Lois at the planet. So if Clark is 38 years old, then backtrack a decade when he was 28, and Cat might have started her company then at the age of around 40, giving her at least 5 years of working with Clark when he started his job at the age of 23 or 24. So it makes perfect sense that Catco has been around no more than a decade. I think for this situation, Lois Lane could be a year or two older than Clark. So Cat would have to be just a decade older than Clark and Lois for this to work. Jimmy is most likely in his early 30's, and joined the planet at around the time Cat was leaving.

Cat might be around the same age of Calista. I place her currently in her late 40's/early 50's. I guess the comment of her having Adam when she was starting her company could just be an error, if you ignore that it makes sense. Otherwise Cat started her company when she was 30, and Clark and Lois logically can't have been at the planet at that time. So it makes sense she started it closer to 40, and we just ignore all the stuff about Adam for it to make sense.

This show is pretty bad with timelines/continuity, so they'd have to be careful about casting Lois. I vote either Gina Torres, Lucy Liu, or (if they HAD to have a white woman), Lucy Lawless.

Well, looking at season 3 promos it looks like Cat is going to give a press conference at some point. Lois could easily be one of the reporters attending.
Don't assume malice when stupidity is an adequate explanation. At least, not the first time.

I'd like to see Lois show up in National City to investigate some L-corp project so Kara has to be a "buffer" between Lois and Lena.

Lots of chances for some snark-to-snark combat.

Yes, Lois Lane must be there and should be either married to Clark or at least be engaged to him. I also would like to see the entire Lane family of Lois, Lucy, and General Sam.
