It doesn't require inside information. The actress on set, in that costume, is Erica Durance, who's been playing Alura all year.

This isn't speculation, this is just my personal wish.

I think it'd make more sense for "Supergirl Returns" to be the name of season 4's premiere, and to keep this season's finale as "Battles Won and Lost".

Hear me out...

We've been lead all year to believe that Reign's story will be tragic, implying that she and Sam will need to die.

But what if Kara found a way to sacrifice herself save Sam (but somehow eliminate Reign)? We end the season thinking Supergirl is dead and gone (but knowing otherwise, because it was renewed, after all).

Fast forward 6 months to the season 4 premiere. The world mourns Supergirl's loss. The DEO operates without Supergirl. Maybe Mon-El is assisting. But we know he's not as powerful as a Kryptonian.

Maybe he and the DEO face a new threat they cannot defeat, then miraculously, Supergirl appears and saves the day. Then we get the mystery of how she lived and where she's been.

Again, this isn't even speculation. There is nothing to support this. I just personally think it'd be cool.

Wouldn't mind a Superman appearance. After all, I could definitely imagine a Supergirl defeat of a WK...one-at-a-time. But, all three? All at once? To paraphrase the Beatles....Girl's gonna need a little help from her friends.

Wow. A second title change this season? Remember the Two Rings fiasco? And if this is a Superman Returns type thing, Holy Brandon Routh....who by the way is going to the 40th annual Superman Festival in Metropolis, IL. And going OT a tad, the main subject is likely to be the 40th anniversary of Superman The Movie...one of the greatest superhero origin films of all time, along with Wonder Woman from last year.

Wow, Im guessing Supergirl does a "fake death" or something then . Also referencing 'Superman returns" there.
