Here's the latest in my ongoing series of Supergirl fan-fiction stories, #39: "Founder's Day In National City". I'm imagining "Founder's Day" to be a sort of local version of Memorial Day, so I gave this story a historical theme.
Hope you like it!

And here's some of the antique artillery pieces I was referring to in the story, still in action today!

Thanks, Argo - I really appreciate it!

When I visited the (US) Civil War Museum in Gettysburg, I watched the cannons being fired. I was impressed by how loud they were, and the fact that the cannonball could travel over a mile!
And of course, I also remember the "rotten egg" smell of the black powder smoke :D

Stewart, This is really a creative one, beyond your creative stories. I loved the cannon angle. I used to go to a lot of Civil War reenactments ments and really appreciate the cannon's capabilities.
