Mega spoilers in this thread. My reaction? As the title says. I won't say the reveal but if you saw the episode you should know.
Thoughts
- Somewhat disappointed that Savitar is who he revealed to be. I mean I saw it coming kinda, but now it gets complicated. Real complicated.
- The CW hates romantic relationships. Secrets and break-ups seem like the writers' go-to plot device. Even though Joe and his girlfriend reconciled, I'm tired on seeing the combination of the two tropes on DCTV.
- Writing, directing, and acting is on point though. That was an intense episode. And backed up by a full season of consistent plot and direction, it is more powerful than any episode that centered on the issue of a single episode, even if a sister is kidnapped or the like, nudge nudge wink wink.
The acting on The Flash was some of the best this season. But somehow I think one of the writers grew up watching the WWE when it was the WWF and may have been a fan of Rowdy Roddy Piper..."Just when you think you know the answers, I change the questions."
Just wanted to say it delights me that we have a Flash discussion on our Supergirl site. I am an avid watcher of all the DC Berlanti shows and it makes me feel good that our users here want to discuss more grander topics with this fine community.
BTW I feel like I called the big reveal since they described early on that Savitar was the first speedster.

You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.
Ha, Kiwi! Thought the very same thing as Killer Frost was sliding through the city, "Wow! This is good special effects (except for when they went in for a closeup on her face as she looked back, lol)."
And yeah Killer Frost was awesome, the costume and everything. I wish Caitlin could retain her abilities as some form of good "killer frost"
Now true that. See part of why I don't like excessive Sanvers in Supergirl has nothing to do with gay or straight, but just that the romantic arc of supporting characters just has nothing to do with anything. This episode and season of the Flash definitely could have done without the Joe and Cecile thing, just like Arrow could have done without Felicity's boyfriend (although they wisely removed him early)
Thing is... I haven't watched much of the Flash this season. Was pretty vigilant up until Grog returned. And I didn't watch much of season one, and really only got into the show the middle to end of season 2. Therefore, I think it was somehow easier for me to just assume it was who it was revealed to be...probably because I had a smaller pool of candidates from which to draw. But it WAS my first assumption.
Once I saw the episode last week, and saw how he became in THAT future, pretty much summed it up for me because I knew it was absolutely possible. We also knew it was someone Killer Frost trusted implicitly when that person stepped out of the suit. (I'm still being vague with names for fear of spoiling it for someone before they realize what thread they're in)....lol
Next thing I'm assuming: spoiler alert..... About to use names now. lol....
Barry probably lived a different life than what we are seeing now. Something will happen on THAT time line that causes him to go back in time (from where he then was) to kill Iris.
Or Savatar also could be a consequence from creating Flashpoint. But it's late and I need to stop my brain from formulating theory on this idea.
