Here's my new Supergirl fan fiction story! This one came about as a result of an idea from one of my regular readers. Hope you like it!
This cover is from the next issue of Supergirl comics, coming out on July 11 and drawn by Bengal. https://www.facebook.com/stewart.tick/posts/1078037972327568

Stewart, Wonderful story. I guess for the crooks it was a "Tequila Sunset". (Couldn't resist the temptation! :D )

Well, Stewart after that fun story I was more thinking of one of the first rock instrumentals if not THE first to go to the top of the charts...Released in 1958...by The Champs...TEQUILA! And there is a Melissa Benoist connection. She kind of did a Pee Wee Herman impression somewhere...and he starred in 1985's "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" which had that song on the soundtrack. I thought of this fun song because well Melissa and Supergirl are fun females!

I'M CRAZY THAT WAY!!! :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

Yes, I did it full-time at Top 40 station WALL in Middletown, NY, from 1976-78. One of my co-workers, Dave Charity, moved on to AOR station WPLJ in New York City (which was then being programmed by former WALL PD Larry Berger!). But I never got out of the Middletown market myself.

After I moved to Virginia to begin my teaching career, I continued to some radio work on the weekends and over the summers. In Virginia, I discovered the Southeastern "beach music" sound, and started a Friday afternoon "Beach Party" show on AC station WKMY ("K-Lite 101";) . It was kind of a lead-in to the weekend, and was really successful!

Here's a link to a short segment my last show on WKMY in June of 1990 (I had to edit out most of the music to keep the MP3 to a manageable length):

I even wrote a fan-fiction story in the Supergirl Team travels to a thinly-disguised Seabrook Island, SC, and Kara discovers (and dances to) Atlantic Coast beach-music!

Well...WALL is playing "Classic Hits" and is STILL in Middletown, NY, owned by Neversink Media Group, LLC. The station airs at 1340 AM and

Translators
94.1 W231BP (Chester)
94.9 W235BI (Middletown)
105.7 W289BE (Ellenville)

Repeater
101.5-2 WPDH-HD2

If you look at its Wikipedia page it has had QUITE the storied life on air

As for WPLJ, it was a rock station at the time you were there. But in the 80's to try and compete with Z100 which was a relatively new Top 40 at the time 'PLJ went Top 40 as well, even changing call letters to WWPR, PoweR 95, before going back to WPLJ (the WWPR calls are now used on a successful hip hop radio station at 105.1 owned by IHeart media). By the 90's it became a more Hot AC sound to which it is today. 'PLJ is under the Cumulus umbrella after years of being ABC-owned along with 77 WABC and Channel 7

Scott Shannon used to do mornings on PLJ with Todd Pettengill. Now Shannon does mornings on WCBS-FM 101.1, trying to recreate his monstrous Z Morning Zoo success. He also hosts "America's Greatest Hits" a countdown of hit songs from mostly the 1970's and 80's, which is syndicated on stations including WALL.
