Hi,

I just found this article at buzzfeed.com that might be of interest to our board members and casual passers-by. It's quite an interesting read and there are certainly some points that our readership and show's viewership can empathise with and / or relate to. Some points you may agree or disagree with but they are worth exploring nonetheless.

As always, comments and insights go below. ;)

I had a thread in the forum that related a lot of what the article talked about.....unfortunately I ended up deleting it because the discourse was slightly turning towards the negative.

I will leave my comment with this.....

I read this article yesterday and really enjoyed it, thanks for posting. :)

And Romulus, thank you for your thoughtful comments. I teach my kids that "knowledge is power", your post speaks to that I believe. Thank you again.

I remember growing up my mom always told me, in order to be a Christian, you don't have to drink milk from a Christian cow....I always laughed about that, but as I've grown older, I totally see what she meant. :)

if you have problem with an show who's message is that all people reguard less where they came from should treated as equally's or show that take's on social issue's of the day.

Have problem with an show that actual show's gay men and woman as ordinary people like rest of us or showing that to discriminate against people just because they look different is wrong.

Then don't watch it.

@ RobertAnthony;

Please keep the discourse constructive.

If the show's direction or slant displeases you, switch the channel. If the subject matter, tone or perceived "agenda" does not mesh with your tastes or worldview, write to the Powers That Be to change it.

Keep in mind that Supergirl is entertainment, but it is not mindless entertainment. It is purposely designed not be be run-of-the-mill bubble gum or cotton candy fare. If you prefer something that doesn't challenge your views or attempt to expand them past your comfort zone (which it has admittedly done mine, especially in S2), stick with NFL football or sit-coms.

Live and let live. You may disagree with the show or its creative direction but please agree to not be disagreeable about it.

Kindly keep the comments regarding MSM trust, validity, political or social indoctrination leanings for other boards or Twitter feeds. There will be plenty of it to go around for the next four to eight years.

Ed Murrow, for whom my father worked, strongly believed that TV was an educational tool to inform and broaden the Public's knowledge. I think this show attempts to perform a similar service. I do not know what conservative or liberal means anymore. I do know, however, that it is important to listen to various views.

Thanks for brining the article yo my attention.

I watch TV shows to be ENTERTAINED...not INDOCTRINATED into a progressive/regressive radical political dictate. I already had that in my years in college.

Also Buzzfeed is part of NBC "News" which means they are a part of the so-called mainstream media, which I have zero trust in.
