CW is adding a new hero soon, Black Lightning. It is presumed he will be in the Arrow multiverse.

I am however sick of seeing Earth 1 getting all the special attention. We need to show that Kara's universe is equally as important. Some people on the Arrowverse Wiki forums feel as I do, and we believe the new show could take place on Kara's world. Apparently the guy operates out of Metropolis so that would fit great.

My complaint really had nothing to do with the time distribution, or fair share as far as "Duet" is concerned. Kara was throughout the entire episode....no complaints there. It was in the "song selection". Her song selection seemed an after thought IMO, not showcasing her voice at all. A strong, original ballad should have been given to her as well. IMHO. :)

I don't think Kara's song selection was an afterthought. I read that the plan early on was to have Melissa sing Moon River. That line with "my huckleberry friend" was perfectly played. They had 44 minutes and got in four songs plus the rest of the story on Earth-1. Remember there was a lot of fans against a musical episode at all. This was in many ways a test so they didn't do as many songs as perhaps they could've. I also think the test angle is why only the cast with serious musical theater backgrounds sang. On the internet many fans who don't like musicals may not have liked the episode but did say the cast were good singers. If it had been a Supergirl episode I don't doubt she would have gotten the original song instead of Grant. Let's see how the producers apply what they have learned about crossovers before we say no more. They have as good as promised a Supergirl episode crossover like "worlds finest".

I think the nuances of my posts are being missed....my apologies. None of my posts have meant to be "black and white" as in, deserved same amount of time, etc. The same goes for my opinion on their song selections. I'm not saying that the choice of "Moonriver" WAS an afterthought for the PTB's., and sure, they could have had that in mind from the beginning. What I said was that it "seemed" to be an after thought, it came across to me as an after thought...in that, easy song, not much will have to be done with it, etc. I have seen a few sites do a ranking of the songs in the musical and to have "Melissa Benoist" in a musical episode and her song be #5 in the ranking? There is a problem. Whether it was in the direction of having her sing it timidly, the song choice, whatever....to have her #5 out of 5 songs in a Musical episode, screams problem to me.

Well everyone is Duet sang roughly the same amount of time, and it did have to be a 40 something minute episode while also progressing the Flash storyline, so the execution could not have been better in my opinion. I reckon everyone got their fair share, unless you prioritise Supergirl over the other show. And if you do then it's alright on a crossover homed in SG, but it's a Flash episode, so the distribution there is actually fairly even.

Yeah the crossover episodes mistreated Kara (not Duet though, Duet was great), but that hurt those episodes themselves. They're not even a part of this season of Supergirl (they aren't SG episodes)

I think she got the short end of the stick in the duet as well. As much as I loved her song, and it is still going around in my head even now....lol Her talent was not showcased well at all IMHO. Screen time wise? not a problem, but for me it was yet again another weak script in terms of a crossover. HOWEVER....with all of that said, I have rewatched this crossover far more than I have the others. :)

Given that his powers are remarkably similar to Leslie Willis/Livewire, it opens up some fascinating guest star potentials on Earth-38, whereas on Earth-1, he seems like just another "Particle Accelerator" accident.

Nooooooo....no more crossovers, they screw up the season as it is.

I wouldn't say no more crossovers but there are major logistical issues and it gets exponentially harder the more shows that are added. Two shows is fine "worlds finest" last year was great and this year "duet" was delightful. Last year Flash and Arrow managed a good two show crossover story. The biggest single problem is time. There's just not enough time for cast and crew to do so much extra work. The producers have talked about building in "dark time" and how Supergirl didn't have enough. Hopefully schedules can be managed better next season. The other challenge is the story. It's not too hard to bring what's happening on two shows together, like "duet", but more than two gets dicey. I have a radical idea if CW insists on bringing more than two shows together don't make an episode of any one show call it something else entirely. Instead of having Flash/Arrow/Legends "invasion" episodes it could have been three night "D.C. Heroes Invasion". All the heroes could have been on an even playing field rather than having to make a separate episode of each unique show that tried to fit together. It would be fine to include minor plot points from each separate show but with no restriction on where within the crossover story they go. This "stand alone" crossover could air during say winter break as a holiday treat. I also think production on each individual show should stop during filming of this "stand alone" crossover but that's probably not possible.

Crossovers did nothing to hurt this season. It's own structure was faulty. Fix that and all will be good.

I have to disagree, I think the crossover hurt Supergirl far more thanit helped or even enhanced the show. The other shows certainly benefited from "Super" fans tuning in, Supergirl not only was put on the back burner of the crossover, it took her away from her own show, not once but twice.

If they cannot figure out a way to use Supergirl AS Supergirl, not someone to be talked down to and put on the side lines when in reality (well as real as this can get...hahaha) she could do what all of them put together can do. So either use her in all her glory, or don't use her at all....all they did this year was use her to get "Super" fans to tune in. So sure, bring this character on to Earth 38, but unless they fix the crossovers by using Supergirl properly....then no thank you to more crossovers.
