Speaking of Captain Marvel, it's pretty funny as straight after watching I thought Melissa Benoist would have actually done a superior job as Carol

Melissa has a distinct advantage. She's been playing a Danvers for years. ;)

Thanks for the review, Kiwi! Glad to hear you liked it.

Nothing against Brie Larson, but this is the "Captain Marvel" movie I want to see. I loved both Shazam comics and the Filmation TV show when i was a wee lad.

I have the SHAZAM! show on DVD...I remember seeing it in reruns in 1980 on CBS as a 6-year-old. And let me also include the 1941 Republic serial with Tom Tyler as Cap...which many call the greatest serial ever made. Have that on DVD as well.

As for the movie, I saw the many trailers for it...I have never seen such goofball fun from the DC movie universe. It's like Superman meets Big. But...I hope for the DVD to come out.

I only wish though Mary Marvel/Shazam had a guest appearance on Supergirl.

By the way, Box Office Mojo reports, Shazam made $53 million in its debut week, getting the top spot.

I really enjoyed the Shazam movie, even more so than Aquaman. Highlight for me was Zachary Levi, his was a marvellous performance and most of my enjoyment came from him, so much fun. Nice work Zachary. :)

I also enjoyed the family vibe of the movie through the Foster home, the 2 actors (Marta Milans and Cooper Andrews) who played the parents were excellent.

Also good were the Batman and Superman references, a lot of fun for a fan like me of those 2 characters, nice to get a Superman appearance at the end even if it wasn't Henry Cavill.
