Hi,
I'm just opening this thread here as an off-topic item to allow people to vent their frustrations regarding various aspects of the show, be it the direction, quality, themes presented, writing, characterisations (but not the actors themselves), show decisions, and the like.
What this thread is, in short, is the equivalent of a free rage cage / shooting range, wrestling, boxing or MMA ring or demolition derby circuit (the venue type is your choice).
What this thread is not, is NOT a location to bash other posters or actors or crews specifically or showrunners or the brass at the CW or WB. Stick to bashing subjects and topics that irk and vex you about the show and not go after other users or the main players personally. If you feel the need to bash other users or posters or the actual players directly here, DON'T.
As with everything in the Forum, admission is free to board members and there is a 24/7 open hours availability.
The rules in a nutshell:
Before Entering the Rage Cage: * Suit up, put on your preferred type of gloves, and pick the weapon of choice * Enter the cage prepared.
1) Whatever is vexing or irking you about the show (with the personal bashing exceptions listed above) can be posted here. It doesn't matter if it's a trivial or major irk or vexation. Just post your ills in this thread and move on. Think of it as a stress-buster thread.
2) Do not bash other users or the players in and around the show itself. Follow the site's rules and regulations as you normally should. Just let off steam about what isn't working on SG in this thread. There is no need to reply to other posters' venting. Simply say your piece and feel better about it and move on.
After Exiting the Rage Cage: * Clean up after yourself and return all used equipment to their proper place.
Note:
3) Constructive criticisms (things that can actually help the show and the players improve the overall product) should be posted in other appropriate threads or as light commentary in the News Feed. Anything such as deep analyses should continue to be separate threads in the Forum.
4) Positive aspects and praise of the show can and should continue to be posted elsewhere.
Enjoy your time here and remember to allow everyone to say their piece without interfering with their trains of thought.
Ok, I think I got this...
/dons safety gear/
/brandishes sledgehammer/
/taps microphone/
I'd rather prefer that the show decides how strong Supergirl is and sticks with that decision.
Oh, and Melissa is always beautiful, but it's just possible bangs might not be her best look.
/steps back from microphone/
Too much?

With respect, if this thread turns into yet another bash the suit thread, I am going to request we close it and use the threads we already have on that topic. I know people aren't happy with it, but I believe if we dwell on it, we won't be able to enjoy the show's aspects that are good to us.The suit?
Thank you
I wish the show's problems began and ended with the suit.
Blatant disregard for events of previous seasons.
Mind-numbingly hackneyed political commentary, featuring caricatures and strawmen as adversaries.
The tendency to undermine and sideline the lead character of the show to make room for contrived relationship "drama." I'm looking squarely at Brainiac 5, possessed of a 12th level intellect, being inflexible and unable to understand Nia's position and adjust his poetic output to her desired level. I get that it is difficult to convincingly write a super-intelligent character like Brainy. If you can't do it, there's no shame in it. But if you can't, at least don't make him stupid.
For all I care, they can have Melissa suited up in a garbage bag if they fixed any two of the above issues.
Worried about this turning into another anti-pants thread? Not with me around...

You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.

Admin, it isn't meant to be a bash the suit thread. Please kindly re-read the basic premise in the introduction.
People are free to vent about anything that irks them on or about the show without attacking the actors, personnel or PTB. I only added my initial reply to get the ball rolling and to give people an idea of how (but not necessarily what) to post. Regarding the suit: I've said my piece and everyone in the board community is aware of it.
In all fairness, it's simply an outlet thread that users or passers-by can either participate in or pass over. Nothing more and nothing less. If it's a particular vexation or irk about a story angle or a character, a VFX complaint, a writing lament (anything, really) or something / anything else that bothers users and casual viewers. It is not limited to a single line of thinking or topic. It is a catch-all laments thread.
Kindly note: If an important VIP passes by, they can also contribute or comment if they so desire, although they may choose not to because of the nature of their line of work. But, the invitation to participate remains open to them
And, I have kindly asked any contributors to follow the site's basic posting rules. Hopefully, people will say their particular piece and move on to the main News topics and post positive and well-thought out responses after they've vented their initial piques / gripes here.
Please, rest assured, all is well.

Too much or too little is entirely up to you. If you're bringing a sledge to the cage, I'd simply suggest you use it as intended.
Swing away!

Sorry. I think this thread is a bad idea. Creating a thread meant to post negativity just breeds more negativity. And I think that's the last thing this forum needs.
This is the last I will be posting here because I don't feel there is anything positive to be gained from a thread like this, which actively serves to complain about the show in a disrespectful fashion with no constructive criticism. Whether it remains open is the Admin's choice, but those are my feelings on the issue.

It's certainly up to you. You're free to simply read the postings or pass over this thread entirely.
I just opened this to allow people to vent and to help prevent the News Pages from being cluttered with non-constructive criticisms or users opening up other threads that wind up becoming snipes and bickering between one-another on touchy subjects.
I will agree that negativity can breed negativity if it is left unchecked. But not having a place to vent is also unhealthy. We can't always genuflect, pretend and smile that all is well in SG world and this has been evident over the past four plus seasons. If we cannot let off steam, then it will continue to bubble under the surface. And we are all aware that is detrimental in the long run. We all want the show to succeed, but at times it continues to push people in negative ways.
This page/thread isn't Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or other social media outlets, where negativity is posted freely and anonymously at every opportunity on every page. Users here are known to one-another and for the most part are quite civil.
And, like you, I agree that Admin has the right to step in and either remove the thread or certain comments deemed over the line. I'm hoping that they don't have to but that's their call.
The goal is to simply allow users to initially vent here and after they've vented, they can move on to other threads and post constructively and make positive comments after their initial feelings have passed. It will hopefully also prevent spillover effects to other threads or the News pages.
One final point: I've already said my piece regarding my biggest vexation / gripe with the show and I will not be posting on this particular subject again. That's the whole point of the thread. Say your piece here and then move on. Repeat as necessary regarding various irks and vexations - but once done, that's it. You are then free to go about your time on the site knowing that you've already let it out.

Going forward, I had intended to keep most of my more negative comments here so as not to rain on others' collective parade.
Most of my feelings about season five are positive or at least way more positive than last year. But there are things that. frankly, I despise. Doesn't mean I think the show sucks.
Sometimes I believe it is healthy to say, "I hated x," without the burden of explanation, apology or softening the blow for the sake of those who loved x.
In theory, people uncomfortable with such opinions would learn quickly to avoid the seething little corner of rage and frustration--and happily carry on in their celebration of the show.
I'll go first:
I've picked up my favourite barbed wire baseball bat (Sweet Lucille) and I'm-a gonna start swingin' and bustin' stuff!...
